Break From Politics: Quiz

(If you must have politics, please scroll down)

For my birthday weekend, a little something that I found at Facebook...

Each question has several answers from which to choose — usually a graphic. Check the box at the lower left of a graphic to log in your choice.

The results that I got:

According to the quiz, I belong in the state of Ohio:
Ohi-YES! You’re an honest person, someone who isn’t afraid to let others know how you feel. Others value your opinion immensely, and they should. Besides that, you’re an adventurous person - why else do you think Ohio has the most astronauts out of any state? Blast off, friend.

  1. You got: New Mexico
You like to take things slow and easy. You’re a person that doesn’t let stress get to you, someone who tends to focus on the more creative aspects of life rather than the nitty gritty. What’s the point in stressing out, anyway? Everything will take care of itself. Also, chances are high that you watch “Breaking Bad.”

    I can't stand "Breaking Bad".

    1. What IS Breaking Bad? Is it anything like Breaking Wind?

Besides, I'd say you were DEVOTED primarily TO the "nitty gritty."

    2. OMG, I got Massachusetts.

Cool test... I tried some of the other ones and got Ireland for where I should live in Europe and Greenwich Village for where I should live in NYC.

    3. That's funny, Finn. Ireland doesn't surprise e a bit, but GREENWICH VILLAGE -- YOU? You may be a little weird -- like all the rest of us -- but you're just not weird enough for that,

  2. Vermont

You like to take things one step at a time making sure things are done properly. You’re someone who appreciates every moment and are never someone to get too worried about this or that. You’re always up for hanging with friends or just exploring on your own. You’ve also got some great syrup, so there’s that.

  4. I got: WYOMING

You have a penchant for enjoying the “little things” in life. You’re not one to get swept up in whatever the hot new drama is, you’ve got bigger fish to fry. You might even have a literal fish to fry. You’re a great person to know, someone who loves to kick it and talk about whatever. Fish fries, shrubs, sports, politics, it doesn’t matter. You be you.

Possibly true -- at least partially -- but I found most of the questions to be completely -- hopelessly -- outside by frame of cultural reference. I don't really like ANY of the TV shows, pop music, or "actors" used as examples from which to choose.

    1. FT,
I found most of the questions to be completely -- hopelessly -- outside by frame of cultural reference.

I also had the same problem, but perhaps not to as great an extent. Anyway, I answered the questions the best that I could.

Clearly, the quiz isn't scientific. But it is a break from politics.

    2. Oh it was great fun, AOW. I hope you don't mind if I take it again. I'd love to find out what answers you're supposed to give to wind up in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts or California.

The cultural reference thing just shows I'm getting old, but then -- like Cotton Mather -- I was BORN old. ;-)

  5. I took the quiz and "learned" that I belong in Utah.

  6. This time I got: NEW JERSEY

Don’t be disappointed. You’re a person who may be the butt of jokes, but you know the truth: you RUN THIS SHOW. You’re a person that doesn’t take crap from anyone, someone who is often in charge, someone who is extremely loyal to friends and even kinder to enemies. You always get the upper hand. Even if you might smell a little bit.

Funny! I just picked them at random this time without thinking. But it's true enough that i was RAISED In New Jersey -- some might want to say RAZED. ;-)

And it's true enough that I sure was RAZZED a lot when I lived there -- till I wised up one day, lost my cool, and beat the living you-know-what out of the bully who'd been riding me for the better part of a year.

  7. BEWARE! I tried to take the "What European Country ..." quiz, and was stopped. They wouldn't give me the answer unless I signed in to Facebook.

No way, no how, no time would i ever do that.

  8. You got: Virginia
You’re the ORIGINAL. People look to you for advice and follow your example. You’re a well-rounded person: professional but not afraid to cut loose from time to time. You’re mature at the same time you’re immature. You refuse to be pigeon-holed into one group or another and that’s something to admire.

    ______________

I like the description, but I'm a Sun Belt person. Southwest. Then, I've never been to Virginia, so Maybe they're right.

  9. AOW, I agree the description on Yours, but not the state. Let's just say Ohio has the least number of Triple D restaurants. Nom-sayin?

Eh... not really, no... somewhat, but not really. I am not one to care diddly squat about what the latest trend is, whether that trend be fashion, morals, attitude, music, etc. I will talk about anything... but kick back? Me? Nonono... I argue to much for that.

Is there a state for independent-minded arguers who just go their own way? Eh... probably not. Fun quiz, lot inaccurate but that site always is.

  12. Here's the description.

You are down for anything, anywhere, anytime. You love meeting and hanging out with new people. But you already know that. In conclusion, GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS! GO PACKERS!

    1. Hahaha! I got Henry David Thoreau:

You want a man who’s simple, self-sufficient and hard-working. A man who loves nature and flouts public opinion to create his own movement. A man who doesn’t even have a Twitter or Facebook. The two of you can live together, out in the tranquility of the woods, with no wifi, no electricity, no human contact whatsoever…actually, maybe you should retake this quiz.

I can't imagine living without a computer, neither am I into transcendentalism! And doing without electricity?

But it was still fun to take that quiz. Thanks for the link.

I can't remember the description but I liked it. Something about contemplative and thoughtful.

    3. Jen,
I know several who have taken the quiz, and the answers didn't fit them.

You were one of the lucky ones, I guess.

  14. Sorry, but I couldn't relate to the quiz. I either didn't like or hadn't eaten at the restaurants listed and had only seen one of the TV shows and didn't like it. As for animals, it was a pretty slim pickens.

Did you get Ohio because you picked the Cardinal? That's the state bird. I grew up in Ohio and it's a great place but kind of dull.

    1. Mike,
Yes, I chose the cardinal, which is also the state bird of Virginia.

Go figure! Most of the answer I got didn't really fit me -- except for this part:

someone who isn’t afraid to let others know how you feel.

      I'm not adventurous, however.
