Help me out here. I have a question.

2003 photo

Why aren't we hearing the mainstream media thumping U.S. District Court Judge Glen E. Conrad, the judge who cleared the way for Unite the Right so that the group had the right to protest in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday, August 12, 2017?

Please see this at the Daily Progress and this at Wikipedia for more information about Glen E. Conrad.

  1. He felt the group was being censored because of content of speech rather than as a threat to public safety which could be maintained by a change of venue.
    Seems a reasonable ruling.
He had no way to know how wrong he was on the latter point.

    1. If you progressive commies can ever get your ruling politburo into place, I'm sure you'll put the kibosh on all that dangerous speech and liberty.

You enjoy living in a police state where you have to beg a magistrate in a black robe for your basic God-given freedoms, don't you?

    2. Duck,
It is a reasonable ruling -- a Constitutional one, in fact.

And it appears that Antifa started the violence while the authorities stood back for a while.

    3. ...and Antifa had NO permit for a counter-demonstration. Why aren't their leaders in jail?

  2. ??? I don't get it? Do you have some kind of theory?

The city tried to deny First Amendment rights to a repellent organization and the Judge allowed the group of miscreants to have their march.

    ???

    1. Marco,
I don't yet have a theory about the judge. Not enough evidence upon which to base even a guess.

  3. I can only wonder what went on behind the scenes? Please don't mind my directing you to Independent Sentinel's "Last Year, When a ‘Unite the Right’ Leader Was An Occupier Who Voted for Obama," www.independentsentinel.com/last-year-when-a-unite-the-right-leader-was-an-occupier-who-voted-for-obama/

What are the odds that nothing is as it appears to be?

  4. They had a first amendment right to gather, protest, whatever.
The ACLU supported them when there original permit was revoked.
    Even a broken clock...
The trick is really, who is Unite the Right?
Are they a false flag group?

    2. Ed,
Interesting that you posted that link!

While you were doing so, I used the link in part of this post at Infidel Bloggers Alliance...

      Jason Kessler: Agent Provocateur"

I also drew on another source in that blog post. Take a look!

I'm about to post it here at this blog, too.

Thank you for letting me know.

  5. This is as clear as mud. "Unite the Right" sounds like it must be a basically Right-Wing organization. Is that true?

If so, are you suggesting it would have been better if the Right Wing had been DENIED its constitutionally-guaranteed right to Freedom of Expression in order to appease –– mollify -- pacify –– aquiesce to –– whatever! –– the LEFT?

If so, that's DISGUSTING, and you must be out of your mind.

The police –– and the National Guard should have been fully armed for riot control and been out in full force to make absoutely sure that the kind of thing that happened hadn't even the faintest chance of happening.

We are allowed to SPEAK in support of our views, however unpopular.

We are NOT allowed to RIOT, LOOT, BURN, MAIM and KILL in order to force our opinons on the public.

Peaceful PROTEST is one thing. Armed INSURRECTION is quite another.

I am militantly opposed to so-called "Hate Speech" restrictions, but I heartily endorse swift and deadly reprisal against ANY form of aggressive PHYSICAL VIOLENCE and the willful DESTRUCTION of PROPERTY belonging to others..

The Left is begging –– ON BENDED KNEE –– for the establishment of a Police State.

God help us, if they succeed in getting what they want!

      Not necessarily!

    2. FT: It also appears the Unite the Right group was herded by police into the Antifa crowd, instead of separated.

  6. I got this response to my question over at another site (not at Infidel Bloggers Alliance, BTW):

Because the press cannot come out against the first amendment, no matter how badly they'd like to?

And just what kind of a name is Kessler? It belongs one of those people no one is supposed to notice and no one is ever allowed to criticize.
