A Beautiful, Perfect Letter

Silverfiddle Rant!

President Trump's letter to Speaker Pelosi was a work of rhetorical beauty.  It cogently and comprehensively hit all the notes in the Democrats' discordant three-year Opera of the Grotesque.

The letter is a thing of beauty, professionally stated but still in the President's own voice.  Clearly, this was not fired off, tweet-like while sitting on the toilet.  Some professional staff work went into it.

This on the heels of IG Horowitz's stinging rebuke of FBI procedures, and Comey's admission that he was wrong and "there was real sloppiness." It vindicated Rep Nunes and shows Adam Schiff to be a liar. Mr. Horowitz confirmed significant FISA abuse and concluded the salacious and unverified dossier played a “central and essential role” in the bureau’s decision to seek a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

Now comes Senate Leader McConnell rightly telling Democrats the Senate impeachment trial will not be turned into an ad hoc fishing expedition.  The Senate will try the case as the Democrats bring it to them.

The Democrat ship is sinking... and it's on fire... in shark-infested waters. My Prediction: Democrats will do what they always do when caught with their pants down:  They will scream louder into their media megaphone.

Please go read the letter and tell us what you think.

    2. Nope Silver. Not at all. I simply do not abide liars, cheats, and blatant immorality. That's all. More more... No less. Trump personifies those traits fully. As do many in the GOP/conservative camp as well as some on the other side.

The fact you cons choose to support such a character, especially being Christian is, remarkable to say the least.

Feel free to call me a prog, a commie, or whatever. None of that bothers me.

When and if, and this is looking to be a BIG if, the GOP actually runs a principled, basically honest, candidate with some real integrity I will gladly consider a conservative again. Not until that happens for sure.

      Merry Christmas

      I am surprised you do.

Prepare for the future of American politics being every bit as corrupt and personality centered as any corrupt administration anywhere in the world. Trump has managed to do THAT remarkably well.

  3. Well, I wouldn't say it's "professionally written." It's actually a little bit rabid. But it is on point and everything it says to and about Pelosi and the Democrats is well deserved.

And it's "ad hoc" fishing expedition; no hyphen and no k. The Latin version of "for this."

  7. Thank you for providing access to this important document, Silver.

I had planned to publish it verbatim, myself, but was unable to find a version I could access easily, then Enlarge, Copy, Print, then take excerpts from..

Thanks to you I WAS able to read this heavily protected facsimile of the original letter, but it was heavy sledding, because of the inability to MAGNIFY and BOLDEN the typeface, which is my usual custom, because of my nearly-blind, deteriorating eye condition.

I do think the letter, –– while a perfectly accurate, truthful account of the heavy doses of ABUSE and CALUMNY inflicted on both our president, our founding principles, and the people of our beleaguered nation –– contains many redundancies and is too long-winded in general to be of much vlaue in influencng the general public to espouse the president's point of view whoeeartedly.

From the dismal, waspish, emarrassingly ignorant, bitterly partisan, stupidly truculent responses garnered here so far today, I had to proclaim te president's eloquent letter FAILURE in the art of rational dicourse and persuasive argumentation. But then both DemonRats and NeverTrump RINO's rarely-if-ever bother to READ or LISTEN to anythimg that contradicts their damnably insolent bigotry.

I'm with President Trump 100%, and steadfstly refuse to acknowledge any of his faults, whih I regard as mere pecadillos not worth discussing. Neither will I attempt to quibble with his detractors whom I openly regard with utter contempt and loathing.

Any attempt to "REASON" with a Never-Trumper is not only a complete waste of energy, it also confers on stupid, bigotted bastards a degree of Dignity, Recognition and Respect they most certainly do NOT deserve.

I, personally, CONDEMN any and all attempts to exercise Tact, Cordiality, Patience, Judicious Consideration, and Diplomatic Restraint on people I regard as fractious fools at best and dngerous, treasonous BASTARDS at worst –– not for reasons of personal animus, but because I am certain such individuals constitute a Grave and Deadly Danger to the Health, Strength and Security of our blessed constitutional republic.

  12. Who disagrees with this?

The second claim, so-called “Obstruction of Congress,” is preposterous and dangerous. House Democrats are trying to impeach the duly elected President of the United States for asserting Constitutionally based privileges that have been asserted on a bipartisan basis by administrations of both political parties throughout our Nation’s history. Under that standard, every American president would have been impeached many times over. As liberal law professor Jonathan Turley warned when addressing Congressional Democrats: “I can’t emphasize this enough…if you impeach a president, if you make a high crime and misdemeanor out of going to the courts, it is an abuse of power. It’s your abuse of power. You’re doing precisely what you’re criticizing the President for doing.”

    1. Do you believe that prohibiting subpoenaed staffers from appearing before Congress is obstruction? I ask because everything POTUS does (any POTUS) becomes precedent. If it’s supportable under one, it’s supportable under the next.

      Delete
    2. Its up to the courts to decide. By my reading of the constitution, no president is obligated to give a lynch mob congress the rope.

The strategic error congressional Democrats made was rushing straight to impeachment. They should have exercised their legitimate oversight duties of the president's conduct of our foreign affairs viz Ukraine. Based on past precedents, they have a right to everything except internal presidential deliberations.

      Delete
    3. They should have exercised their legitimate oversight duties of the president's conduct of our foreign affairs viz Ukraine.

Breaking News: Paul Manafort has New York State Fraud Prosecution DISMISSED Because of 'Double Jeopardy' - Opening Way for Donald Trump to Set Him Free with a Pardon

    Daily Mail (UK)

    by Louise Boyle

New York - Paul Manafort's state charges in New York were thrown out by a judge on Wednesday in a dramatic court victory for the former Trump campaign chairman. He won a claim that the prosecution brought by New York state's attorney general, Letitia James, was invalidated by 'double jeopardy' laws because it overlapped with the federal crimes of which he was convicted earlier this year. However Manafort remains in federal custody and is not scheduled for release until Christmas Day 2024. But the judge's ruling opens the way for Donald Trump to set Manafort entirely free by presidential pardon or by commuting his setence. . . .

MERRY CHRISTMAS, PAUL! GOD LOVE YOU!

The ONLY thing that could turn me against President Trump would if he FAILS to pardon Mike Flynn, Paul Manafort, and Roger Stone.

A slight majority of people understand and agree that Trump's impeachment is substantive, valid, deserved, and a serious matter. That slight majority isn't just composed of all people that consider themselves Democrat or even left-wing.
