We adopted Minxy precisely because she's an alpha.
One drawback: it's high maintenance to bring an alpha kitty in line. Case in point: just now, she wanted to play fetch.
Yes she plays fetch!
We weren't paying attention to what she wanted to do. She remedied that lack of attention by getting attention by chewing off the padding on the seat lever of Mr. AOW's scooter. Minxy is a chewer if we're not giving her enough play time. The clothes hampers are substantially damaged. She has also chewed into two pieces two iPhone cords. **sigh**
Cameo was not a chewer. But she was so much an alpha that she stood up when she peed; sometimes, she missed the pan -- never mind that we have extra large ones with high sides.
Back to what happened here a few minutes ago...
Needless to say, after Minxy's "attack" on Mr. AOW's mobility scooter this morning, we are now playing fetch with her.
Kid, Despite that posture, Minxy is very ticklish and gets all riled up if I try to give her a belly rub. Fortunately, she usually keeps her claws sheathed.

FJ and FT,
DeleteYes, indeed!
The Great Spirit of the Feline World has blest you with a Worthy Successor to play the role of Alpha Cat in your feline-friendly household.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Minxy must be related to your dear Cameo from somewhere along the line.
Minxy and Cameo certainly share some personality traits.

AHA! You've brought a classic Contol Freak into your midst. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHAPPY DAZE!
FT,
DeleteMinxy is definitely a classic Contol Freak.
Amber, on the other hand, is mellow. For the most part, Amber ignores Minxy's "attacks" on her.
Is Minxy now your only cat?
ReplyDeleteDuck,
DeleteNo, we still have our tortie Amber. She turned six years old on March 13. Sweetest kitty ever! And obedient, too. No joke!
She looks like she wants her belly rubbed.
