How Mr. AOW and I felt for some ten days when we had the flu last month:
What a miserable malady!
To top it all off, one night Mr. AOW rolled out of bed at midnight (not hurt, fire department came right away to get him up off the floor), and a few days later I slipped and fell on the ice. I'm still hobbling around.
To FEEL that bad would be dreadful, of course, but to LOOK that bad would be far worse. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLet us hope that in your case "appearances were deceiving." ;-)
PS: You have me in stitches.
FT,
DeleteWell, I did have bags under my eyes for quite a long time.
I never developed laryngitis, which lasted for at least 10 days.
It is a testament to your indomitable spirit and positive outlook that you can find humor in such circumstances!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you and Mr. AOW.
+1
DeleteOur plight wasn't funny at the time.
DeleteBoth of us as sick as dogs. Then, one night at midnight, Mr. AOW, finally having a respite from the coughing, rolled out of bed. The EMT's came right away. But what a way for both of us to wake up!
SF,
DeleteFor the first time, we both felt quite vulnerable. Aging is no fun, I tell ya!
feel better hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!! xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteWHT,
DeleteWe're still coughing a bit, but the worst is behind us now -- if we can avoid catching something else, that is.
Hey, stop that. It hurts just reading this stuff.
ReplyDeleteOdie,
DeleteAs much as having the malady? Maybe.
Hope Mr. AOW enjoyed his hot toddy.
ReplyDeleteDuck,
DeleteI was too sick to fix many hot toddies. Did manage a few brandies, though.
The flu is not funny, but THAT picture cracked me up! :) Thanks for the laugh, and hoping the AOWs are doing well.
ReplyDeleteDaBlade,
DeleteThanks for your well wishes. We're finally back to normal -- whatever "normal" means in our case. **wink**
