Sad News

Corrections from Always On Watch in red.  Somehow I miscommunicated where Mr. AOW is on the timeline of life.

Mr AOW is on the verge of passing away after a brief struggle with kidney disease caused by long-term diabetes and high blood pressure.  He is now under hospice care.

Mr. AOW is a US Army veteran, Vietnam Era. He and Mrs AOW began dating 49 years ago this month.  They  married on June 17, 1972.  A lifetime with each other and living in the same house all those years!

He has been in poor health for years, and I just want to say that AOW is an incredibly strong and Godly woman who has taken care of her husband in their house while also teaching children. AOW is a stellar example of living one's wedding vows "in good times and bad, in sickness and in health."  Let's keep her and the soul of her soon to depart husband in our prayers.

Here is Mr. AOW's "ABOUT ME" from his blog:
I am a veteran of the Vietnam War Era and a political conservative even though I'm from Southern California.
I have been married over 40 years to the best blogger on the web: Always On Watch (aka AOW and Mrs. AOW).
Severely disabled by a brain hemorrhage in 2009, I still love life!
I have the use of only one hand, so my seek-and-find typing is very slow.  However, I do read and appreciate comments to my blog.
I believe that laughter is the best medicine.  Send me jokes!  I'm an equal opportunity insulter.  Heh.

Rest in Peace when your time comes, Mr. AOW.

    2. This one's for Mr. AoW....

he new hooker just finished her first trick, when she came down the street, the seasoned veterans gathered around to hear the details.

She said "Well, he was a big muscular handsome
      sailor."

"Well, what did he want you to do?", They all
      asked.

She said, "I told im a straight lay would be $100,
but he didn't have that much."

Then she told him, "Oral sex would be $75, but he
      didn't have that much either."

"Finally I asked him, well how much money do you
      have?"

      He only had $25.

The new hooker said, "Well, for $25 all I can do
      is service you by hand."

He agreed and after getting the $ straight,
she said "He pulled it out and I put one hand on
it, and then a second hand above the first and
then the first hand above the second hand."

"Oh my god" they all exclaimed, "It must of been
huge, then what did you do?"

      "I loaned him $75!"

    3. Okay, that was probably in bad taste... so here's another.

A Soldier and a Marine were sitting next to each other on a plane. The Marine took off his boots and began to stretch out. The soldier swore under his breath at the Marine and told him he wanted to get up and get a drink.

The Marine insisted that since he was in the aisle seat he would get it for him. The Soldier agreed, and when the Marine went to get his drink he started spitting in the Marine’s boots.

When the the Marine came back the Soldier nodded and thanked him for the drink, very pleased he pulled one over on the Marine. This happened several times times throughout the flight.

When the plane was descending for the landing, the Marine put his boots back on and quickly realized the Soldier had been spitting in his boots.

To the Soldiers surprise, the Marine was laughing about it. He looked over at the Soldier and said “when are we going to stop playing these games, spitting in each others boots and pissing in each others drinks, it’s so juvenile!”

    4. My dad, my uncle, and I were all in the Army during wartime, but only two of us three served overseas. One Memorial Day at a family event honoring veterans, my young cousin asked where we'd all been stationed. “I served in Japan,” said Dad. “I served in Korea,” said Uncle Jerry. “Baltimore,” said I. “Keeping it safe for democracy.”

It saddens me that AOW is going through this struggle.
My wife and I continue to hold the two of them in prayer as they go through this time,

  8. Mr. AOW is in no pain -- thanks to hospice care -- and is being allowed to eat whatever he wishes after two years of a strict diabetic diet to prevent another round of pancreatitis. Ice cream!

    1. My wife's mother went through this years ago.
She gave up dialysis because of the strain it put on her and her husband who took her. She was ready.
She was pain free and seemed to go painlessly.
The family was gathered around her to pray and asked Scherie to lead.
After a while, her mom interrupted her and said to speed it up as she wasn't going to be around forever.
