(Two posts today. Please scroll down)

See Obama’s Libyan Adventure: What’s In It For Him? at Bob Mack's site Be Sure You're RIGHT, Then Go Ahead. Excerpt below the fold:

The revolt was started in Benghazi on February 15-17th by the group called the National Conference of the Libyan Opposition. The protests had a clear fundamentalist religious motivation, and were convened to commemorate the 2006 Danish cartoons protests, which had been particularly violent in Benghazi.

...The leaked State Department memos describe Eastern Libya (2008) as an area of fervent Islamic sentiment, where “a number of Libyans who had fought and in some cases undergone ‘religious and ideological training’ in Afghanistan, Lebanon and the West Bank in the late 1970′s and early 1980′s had returned [...] in the mid to late 1980′s”. There they engaged into “a deliberate, coordinated campaign to propagate more conservative iterations of Islam, in part to prepare the ground for the eventual overthrow by the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) of Muammar Qadhafi’s regime, which is ‘hated’ by conservative Islamists.”
Read it all.Bob has the links to support his contentions.

  1. But the press told us it was because they love our American freedoms???!!!

Weren't those Libyans wearing tri-corn hats and powdered wigs?

The truth is, nobody knows how this will shake out, as there are varying factions cooperating even as they jostle for position.

Bob Mack is a smart blogger doing the Lord's work. Thank for linking to him!

  2. I love this quote, "The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”

We honestly do not have any business whatsoever interfering in what is obvious an internal affair.

  3. I posted on a similar topic, but I focused more on Obama's delayed reaction to all of the present crises, and compared Obama's failure to act in a timely fashion to the perception of some Liberals of Bush's tardiness in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Along with the obvious hypocritical observations of Obama loving Liberals, of course.

  4. Obama may have thought there was something in it for him, but things are not turning out exactly as planned. He's looking even more wish-washy than ever.

    Right Truth

  5. Thanks for the link, AOW. Given Obama's proclivities, when I started looking for info on the 'Libyan Rebels', I already had a suspicion of exactly what I was going to find.

Silverfiddle, thanks for the kind words.

  6. Agreed, Obama heard this proposal and said making a mockery of the shooting of Guilford didnt do jack for me but this could be great and I'll show those Bush supporters how to really fight a war...
    by committee ...

I am not sure whether to laugh or cry because yes it is fun to watch liberals tie themselves in knots with their nuanced positions but this is serious stuff and ultimately the USA image is formed by the actions of the Community Coordinator in Chief

  7. Great snag. The emperor has no clothes, but will anyone notice?

  8. the so called progressives do not believe in liberty and we all know it...sigh..

  9. I do agree. Hillary has more to lose. If they succeed Obama has positioned himself well enough in the media that his drones will believe it was his idea...but if this drags on with no exit strategy then it willbe Hillary's resignation letter on the desk.....

  10. Any one catch the youtube video where Joe Biden says Bush could be impeached if he went to war without Confgression approval.....

Forget waiting 2 years let Impeach Obama Now
