Happy Wedding anniversary to you both. May there be many more for you both in good health. God.....40 years made me look back and realise how time flies.Mentally i still feel 18 but the body doesn't agree.lol
Will, Mentally i still feel 18 but the body doesn't agree.
That truth was brought home to me yesterday in a bad way. After 12 years of not riding a bicycle (I used to ride every day and did so for almost 2 decades), I tried riding my bike. Well, I made a stupid mistake and ended up on the ground. I limped home with a bummed up knee (cuts, scrapes, bone bruise).
Wildstar, The two bicycle experts in the homeschool group fixed my bike, which had languished in the back shed for over a decade.
I am embarrassed that these experts will now learn what a stupid thing I did. The bike is undamaged, however.
Ah, well, in about two weeks I'll be able to get back onto the bike. This time, I will wear proper shoes instead of sandals -- and not try any "tricky" maneuvers until I'm certain I'm ready. Obviously, it will be a long time until I can really hit the bike trail the way that I used to: 13 miles every morning just after the sun came up.
Congratulations! This is truly an achievement. He has his eye surgery so he can see how beautiful you look after being on your new diet. Make the most of each day. You know that the Grouch (sweet hubby) and I will also be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in September.
As a friend said, marriage isn't easy, it has ups and downs, tears and smiles, but when the sad times are only a drop in the ocean of wonderful times, you have a great marriage. I can truly say that and I think you and Mr. AOW can also.

As you can see from my paucity of comments to this thread, I spent little time on the web yesterday. I was spending a lot time elevating my injured knee and getting things ready here at home for Mr. AOW's surgery on Thursday -- on Thursday if the surgery center decides that he can undergo this surgery as an outpatient procedure.

Congratulations!!! Many happy returns!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of years. I was discussing your marriage date with my wife, since we have been married longer.
I came to the conclusion that if you have to use a calculator to figure out how long ago the wedding was, you've been married too damned long.
FT,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the celebration in verse! And original poetry, no less!
THANKS, ALL!
