45th Wedding Anniversary Blog Break (With Addendum)

Mr. AOW and I tied the knot on June 17, 1972. Today, we are celebrating our sapphire anniversary:

44th Wedding Anniversary

According to this web page, as of today at 3:20 P.M., Mr. AOW and I have been married for 16,060 days or 385,440 hours or 23,126,400 minutes which is over 1,387 million seconds...have by now shared about 35,000 meals together which equates to approximately 2 years, 4 months of continuous eating!

We are skipping an anniversary dinner tonight. I'm not feeling well enough to go out right now.  Last night, however, a former student brought us dinner, so we have celebrated after a fashion.

43 Years!

Immediately after our honeymoon, Mr. AOW and I moved into The Little House — a cottage on my grandmother's property, the property where we still live now.  Only $50/month to pay in rent!  Thus began the chance to built a little nest egg.

We moved into my grandmother's house in 1982; she had died in 1981, and we had to do a lot of upgrading and tending to deferred maintenance.  Hard to believe that we have lived in The Big House for almost 35 years!

Today, Mr. AOW and I are celebrating 42 years of marriage.

And, yes, we are still each other's best friend.

41st Wedding Anniversary

I have to tutor for a few hours this morning. Mr. AOW will be sleeping in because he has the day off from occupational therapy.

Later in the day, Mr. AOW and I are going out to one of our favorite restaurants.

No big splurge on this day, the actual date of our anniversary, because in August we'll be going on a week's vacation at a classy resort — our first vacation since 2007.

40th Wedding Anniversary

Mr. AOW and I are celebrating our Ruby Anniversary. We were pronounced man and wife at 3:15 P.M. on June 17, 1972.
