See Death is yours ... if you want it at Feed Your ADHD

Brief excerpt below the fold.
I am an expatriate in reverse. I left America to find America. When I returned, I found America a writhing, swollen, tumor infested beast, wriggling in the throes of death.

That was nearly 20 years ago. It takes a long time for a bloated bureaucracy to die.

Now I sit on my front porch and monitor the decay from an iPhone, like some detached scientist, keeping data, talking notes, bookmarking doom, plotting charts that prove my hypothesis...

  2. Reading that blog makes a tough start to the day. He did get it right, didn't he?

"In the coming 5 months we have a decision to make. Do we let our country die? Do we let our way of life die? Do we let ourselves die?"

    He nails things pretty well.

  3. I've been a fan of Snarky for quite some time. This is an uncharacteristically serious piece, but dead on! (no pun intended)

  5. Couple things:

    1. The guy doesn't seem to understand the difference between cannibalism and dismemberment. I do get a kick out of this latest fringe right reaction.

    2. He commits the same error as most right wingers and states that the top earners pay 70% of the taxes. He means income taxes and his statement is utter stupidity and at least anecdotal evidence that the right is incapable of learning.

    3. He parrots hate jocks and complains about a loss of individuality. What a maroon.

  8. Ducky is right in that our current taxsystem is based largely on taxing labor. This system allow the rich (those with assests--stocks,land, businesses, etc) to avoid taxes in many instances. However, as the poor (those that make money by labor only) are taxed in a progressive tax scheme that punishes working harder.

Every time a socialist aka democrat gets up and says we need to raise taxes make no mistake those taxes are coimng straight at the poor because our system is labor based. The rich can side step most increases by buying influence in government (GE) or simply not invest in businesses that use labor or passes the cost along to use at the bottom by not raising wages. This is actually playing itself out right now because of Obamacare and other programs that have raised the cost of doing business in America right now. It is why most of us have not had a raise in 3 years if we have held on to our jobs. Incidentally we are likely doing more work for the same pay because we are afraid of losing our jobs.

The problem is this to hard to put into a sound bite. Many of our citizens have been dumbed down by our government run schools so you have to give them slogans. They simply can not engage in logical discussion involving simple economic reality.

Most of this culture are impressed by the crease in someone's pants or "Hope and Change" or "tax the rich".

The real challenge is not in winning this election in November. Obama is a train wreck in progress. The real challenge is sparking that American can do spirit again,. In rekindked that rugged individualism that inventive and adventrous spirit and Faith.

This article is about the fact that largely we have allowed our culture to fall into decay and we are losing these traits. We can either continue on this path of destruction and become like other countries where its people live in various forms of bondage or turn this around and become the city on the hill again.

We can not get there by taxing the rich. We also can not get there by allowing companies like Ge Solydra to buy favors in Washington
