Everybody and his brother seems to have their own sets of predictions for the November 4 National Intelligence Test, otherwise knows as Election Day.

  1. I predict too many good Americans staying home and too many losers rushing out to vote to keep their free money.

    1. Kid,
Maybe not. The Dems do seem worried about the turnout.

Mr. AOW and are will physically be staying home, but our absentee ballots went out in Monday's mail. It's too big a scramble here for us to get to the polls -- because of my work hours and, most significantly, Mr. AOW's disability.

    2. We are voting absentee ballot this time, too, as we will be out of town for our son's wedding.

  2. I see the senate going GOP, but not enough to do anything other than freeze any new legislation for 2 long years. In 2016, Hillary will easily win, and the GOP will suffer heavy losses nationwide.

    2. IMO, it's too early to predict the outcome of the 2016 National Election.

      Just my two cents.

    3. Jersey, do you really think the American people love unemployment, soaring gas prices and the destruction of the military? Because that's what they get with Hillary.

  3. I somewhat agree with my friend (above). There is little distinction between either of our political parties and few of our citizens (who do vote) really give much thought to this. I lament how our political parties have evolved, but more than this, I mourn our people who lack the intelligence to discern the fraud these parties perpetuate against them —that ticking you hear is not a grandfather clock; it is a time bomb.

    1. Mustang, you agree with jersey mcjiggers? Well anyway, I agree with you. It is not the politicians, it's the brain dead voters like the libtards polluting the internet. But they're free to do so and that's a good thing because ignorance always need a light shone upon it.

IMO, we are seeing the worst of the two-party system the past few decades.

Maybe it's always been a matter of "the choice of the lesser of two evils." But it does seem to me that very many Americans have lost confidence in our system of governance.

Politicians are a plague upon the land.

  4. Very close in the Senate. It will be 51-49 one way or the other reflecting the deep division in the country.
The House will stay Republican despite a Democrat majority in the popular vote.

Nothing will change and the suckers will do this all again in two years.
Nothing will change then either and we will be no closer to understanding that the oligarchy owns us.

Four more years and the suckers will be deeper in the hole and still watching the increase in the military budget ... LOOK - scary Muslims with Ebola.

    1. Duck,
Who said scary Muslims with Ebola. I certainly have not.

It's a bit early to say that Ebola in the United States is not scary. The relief at the 21-day mark is premature. There is still a 5% chance that 21 days is not enough time.

Also, note what is done when rooms are possibly contaminated by the Ebola Virus. Thankfully, their church is rallying donations for the family.

  5. We will fail the test miserably...but the test is rigged so the outcome should be of no surprise. I believe that the GOP will win enough seats to gain the Senate, except Orman will win in Kansas and the Georgia runoff results won't be known until January. I believe that the GOP will complain about Libertarian votes while ignoring the low turnout from their base. And I believe that the Democrats will experience equally low turnout while ignoring that the problem is POTUS.

Finally, as Mustang deftly alluded to above, I predict that the pundit class will fail to realize that they cannot play the "OMG, it's the most important election of our time!!!" card repeatedly, and expect to get results that ever change the paradigm of perfidious duopoly.

  7. From Americans’ Gloom Marches Into Second Decade:

he only time the public has felt worse was in October 2008, during the first, deep spasms of the recession. Then, 78% said the nation was on the wrong track, and only 12% felt good about the country’s direction. The last time “right direction” beat out “wrong track” was in January 2004 — and the last election cycle where that was the case was 2002.

“Why are people so gloomy? Well, it might just be everything,” says pollster Micah Roberts...Mr. Roberts is vice president of Public Opinion Strategies, which along with Hart Research Associates conducted the poll. “We haven’t had a plurality saying ‘right track’ in over ten years so that’s pretty amazing. After 10 years it’s just part of the collective consciousness of Americans,” to think the nation’s gone off the rails, he added....

    More at the above link.

How the above affects the National Intelligence Test remains to be seen, of course.

BHO has the penchant for making proclamations, some of which may turn out to be true, but only temporarily. The media then trumpets the victory as the lead story. When things reverse, the reversal is certainly not mentioned by BHO (to be fair, few political leaders announce reversals) or as the media's lead story. It's Orwellian!

  18. I'm overdue to address this topic at Mike's America. Polling indicates the GOP will make moderate gains (under 10 seats) in the House. I believe the GOP will take the Senate but it could tie and that would leave Democrats in control. One problem that I have been warning about again and again is the investment of resources Dems have put into field operations for getting out the vote. Once again, I see close races that would otherwise go GOP going to the Dems because of this and the GOP still doesn't seem to be willing to match Dem efforts.

Best case scenario for the Senate would be an 8 seat gain but six or seven is more likely.

  22. After a long evening of grading papers, I'm finally catching up on the today's news. It now appears that more and more evidence is appearing to exonerate the police officer who shot Michael Brown in Ferguson:

FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOX) – A report by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch this morning shows the official autopsy supports Ferguson officer Darren Wilson’s claim that Michael Brown struggled with him in his patrol vehicle, and that Brown did not have his hands up when he was shot Aug. 9.

    [...]

A forensic pathologist from San Francisco, Dr. Judy Melinek, says based on a bullet wound to Brown’s arm, Brown’s palms could not have been facing Wilson in the standard surrender position – with hands up and palms out – when he was shot, and Brown was falling forward or lunging when he was hit by the fatal shot to the top of his head....

Will this information impact the Democratic Party at the polls in November? After all, we all know that Obama and Holder have basically given support to Michael Brown before the facts were in.

A spreadsheet ICE officials prepared listing the detainees includes one person in Texas charged with aggravated kidnapping and sexually assaulting a child, as well as others charged with armed assaults or assaulting police officers. Another immigrant released from Miami had been charged with conspiracy to commit homicide. Two detainees from Boston had been charged with aggravated assault using a weapon. One in Denver had a sexual assault charge. The agency released the spreadsheet to USA TODAY under the Freedom of Information Act.
