Is America Really Broke?

Whether a Democrat or Republican, maybe the time has come for us to stop trying to fool one another. Both parties claim that America is broke. We can no longer take care of our seniors, veterans, orphans, the homeless, or the mentally ill.

How can this be true, when we can afford to pay out in cash, aid to the following foreign entities:

Hamas - $351 Million,
Libya $1.45 Billion,
Egypt - $397 Million,
Mexico - $622 Million,
Russia - $380 Million,
Haiti - $1.4 Billion,
Jordan - $463 Million,
Kenya - $816 Million,
Sudan - $870 Million,
Nigeria - $456 Million,
Uganda - $451 Million,
Congo - $359 Million,
Ethiopia - $981 Million,
Pakistan - $2 Billion,
South Africa - $566 Million,
Senegal - $698 Million,
Mozambique - $404 Million,
Zambia - $331 Million,
Kazakhstan - $304 Million,
Iraq - $1.08 Billion, and
Tanzania - $554 Million

In spite of this, these people hold the United States in utter disdain. The concept that these people deserve so much of our monetary resources at the expense of our own people here at home is nothing less than incredibly absurd.

Why is it easier to adopt a baby from China, than one here in the USA? How are the starving children in Ethiopia more precious than our own? Why do hundreds of homeless people freeze to death in America’s winters? Why do we consign the mentally ill to roam the streets, digging in trash cans for food?

Charity begins at home. This is not rocket science.

  1. No, it is not rocket science Sam, but one does need at least 2 brain cells to figure it out. Evidently there are those out there with only one.

  3. Ducky: Israel routinely administers ass-kickings to nefarious forces in the region.

That is called a return on investment.

  4. Add another 1.1 billion that Kerry just gave to Morsi over in Egypt. You know, that new democracy.

  5. Did you catch that hot mic moment where the Egyptians referred to us as their enemies, not Ethiopia?
    And SF: Right On!

  6. Silverfiddle, Israel regularly bombs unarmed civilians. They can't hit Iran because their pilots have never flown into a hazard. They need to stick to "suspected militants".

You avoid the issue anyway. Why aren't they listed? They receive nearly as much as the rest combined.

What type of aid do those nations receive.
    What American companies benefit?
If that rather small amount were eliminated would we then make a dent in some of the social causes Sam is suddenly concerned with?

Of course none of that is answered because Sam's indignation springs from the religion and ethnicity of the recipients. Even cursory analysis is unnecessary, right?

Let's deliver more ass kickings. That's working out just swell.

  7. As long as the Fed, China, and Japan keep loaning the US money, the party will continue and will continue until the day that it doesn't any more.

  8. I see that Ducky lines up with Jimmy Carter: release the mentally ill and let local communities deal with them. What a surprise, eh? Well, it makes sense. The homeless mentally ill form the single largest voting block of the Democratic Party. You know, it doesn’t take much: some booze, free cigarettes, gratis transportation. Life is good.

  9. I made no statement on that, Jack.

I simply stated that's Sam's ridiculous assertion that cutting foreign aid would in any way mitigate social issues only masks his real objection to the aid.

Now really, are you that ignorant or are you just being contentious.

  10. Actually, you did make a statement on that, duck. You ignored the point of the post and embarked upon your own narrative. Actually, I could care less if you choose to ignore the primary issue, but given all the whining you do about personal attacks, maybe you should avoid contention by referring to others as ignorant.

  11. No one in my family saw any of that 1.4 billion in American aid.

  12. Well, Jack, since you persist.
Let's look at the title of Sam's scholarly post:
    Is America Really Broke?

Now the body of the post implies we would be on a much sounder fiscal basis without this rather trivial amount of foreign aid. Tip money, really.
It also raises the possibility that the fringe right accepts this analysis and really does believe this small outlay is preventing adequate spending on the problems he lists.

You still don't seem willing to address the omission of Israel which consumes multiples more in foreign aid than the rest.

So what is the primary issue?
The mere fact that money is going to states Sam disapproves of is sufficient reason to believe it should be stopped?
Or maybe you can explain your ridiculous injection of Jimmy Carter into the thread.

  13. Are you unable to answer the questions, Ducky? You do realize that your sobriquet is well deserved, right?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Sam, when you say sobriquet to which were you referring, Nostradumbass or Ducky?

Nostradumbass, for those of us that have read your stupid anti-Semitic BS over the years - (yes FT, I also have a history with Nostradumbass that goes back at least 10 years if not more), let me explain something to you.

"The mere fact that money is going to states Sam disapproves of is sufficient reason to believe it should be stopped?"

Sam's answer, (knowing that you're so self-absorbed with Jew hatred that you missed it.)

"Why is it easier to adopt a baby from China, than one here in the USA? How are the starving children in Ethiopia more precious than our own? Why do hundreds of homeless people freeze to death in America’s winters? Why do we consign the mentally ill to roam the streets, digging in trash cans for food?

Charity begins at home. This is not rocket science."

Your obsession with Jews is irrelevant to the post.

The injection of Jimmy Carter wasn't ridiculous. It's what is known as a simile, a comparison of you and Jimah Carter. Rest assured, the rest of us understood.

Any time that Sam needs a Chekisty to buff up some agitprop, I'm sure he'll give you a yell.

  15. Israel regularly bombs unarmed civilians.

Does this have a YouTube channel? I'm making popcorn.

  16. Then there is the MIC.

That and what Free Thinke said.

  17. @ Ducky

One attractive aspect of this country is that each of us is entitled to form our own conclusions. I know this will all change once your kind take over, but for now it is nice to be able to have an opinion, and express it without fear of being sent to a gulag.

Meanwhile, you seem to think that sending that amount of money to overseas locations makes perfect sense, regardless of our economic problems. I assume you also think, given economic reality that spending our limited resources on foreign citizens makes perfect sense. That would make you a silly man, but you are entitled to your opinion no matter how illogical and flawed your thinking.

    I don’t know about Huntington’s biases … but I know about yours.

    ReplyDelete
  18. No, Jack, that's ridiculous.
I am totally neutral on the merits of the aid and Sam's post does not discuss the nature of the aid, only the scalar quantity which is a trivial amount.

Face it, whatever Sam has in mind is post is poorly written and unfocused.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes Ducky, the amount is trivial when compared to our national debt; it is not trivial in relation to denying services to the American people. Now believe me when I tell you, I understand your point of view. It is utterly meritless, but typical of your Stalinist mentality.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Not a zero sum game, Sam.

If there are programs which need that money (how do we determine the optimum size of social programs) it can be appropriated with no difficulty.

Of course it would be useful to look at the purpose of the foreign aid but you merely label it as a detriment due to the recipients.

Israel gets more than all the rest combined. Why not cut that?

You really haven't shown any desire to discuss this on the merits.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Spoken like the true anti-Semite that you are Ducky. I love it when you reveal yourself.
