Boston Marathon Bombings Suspects Named?

I don't know how reliable THIS is (from Twitchy): Suspects identified on police scanner as Mike Mulugeta, Sunil Tripathi; one ‘suspect is running’

Can anyone verify?

UPDATE 1: The Associated Press is now reporting that the two suspects are from a Russian region near Chechnya. The man on the run has been named as Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, age 19.

UPDATE 2 from Atlas Shrugs:
Spencer says: "Chechnya is the Muslim area of the Caucasus that has been waging jihad against the Russians since the 19th century."

[...]

AP sources identify the surviving Boston bomber as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19. The man is said to be from Russia’s south, not far from the Chechen Republic.

The man reportedly lived in Turkey before arriving legally in the US about a year ago.

The name is listed among the recipients of Cambridge scholarships in 2011.

The second suspect is said to be his brother.

An NBC report claims the two immigrated at least two years ago. One of the brothers is said to have a Massachusetts drivers’ license.

There is a page at the Russian social network VKontakte (In Contact) with the name Dzhokhar Tsarnaev living in Boston and studying at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School.
UPDATE 3 from Infidel Bloggers Alliance: COMPREHENSIVE INFORMATION.

  1. Did Jeff Bauman provide information that helped to lead the police to particular suspects?

  2. Excerpt from the above link (dated April 18):

Bombing Victim in Iconic Photo Helped Identify Attackers

Minutes before the bombs blew up in Boston, Jeff Bauman looked into the eyes of the man who tried to kill him.

Just before 3 p.m. on April 15, Bauman was waiting among the crowd for his girlfriend to cross the finish line at the Boston Marathon. A man wearing a cap, sunglasses and a black jacket over a hooded sweatshirt looked at Jeff, 27, and dropped a bag at his feet, his brother, Chris Bauman, said in an interview.

Two and a half minutes later, the bag exploded, tearing Jeff’s legs apart. A picture of him in a wheelchair, bloodied and ashen, was broadcast around the world as he was rushed to Boston Medical Center. He lost both legs below the knee.

“He woke up under so much drugs, asked for a paper and pen and wrote, ‘bag, saw the guy, looked right at me,’” Chris Bauman said yesterday in an interview.

Those words may help crack the mystery of who perpetrated one of the highest-profile acts of terror in the U.S. since the 2001 assault on New York City and the Washington area, one that killed three people and wounded scores.

While still in intensive care, Jeff Bauman gave the FBI a description of the man he saw, his brother said. Bauman’s information helped investigators narrow down whom to look for in hours of video of the attack, he said....

Did you get that Mr. president? If not maybe one of these PROGRESSIVES could explain the reason why not!

1 OF 2 MASS. BOMB SUSPECTS DEAD; SUBURBS SHUT DOWN

BY EILEEN SULLIVAN, MEGHAN BARR AND KATIE ZEZIMA
ASSOCIATED PRESS

WATERTOWN, Mass. (AP) -- Two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing killed an MIT police officer, injured a transit officer in a firefight and threw explosive devices at police during their getaway attempt in a long night of violence that left one of them dead and another still at large Friday, authorities said as the manhunt intensified for a young man described as a dangerous terrorist
    .
The suspects were identified to The Associated Press as coming from the Russian region near Chechnya, which has been plagued by an Islamic insurgency stemming from separatist wars.

A law enforcement intelligence bulletin obtained by the AP identified the surviving bomb suspect as Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, a 19-year-old who had been living in Cambridge, just outside Boston, and said he "may be armed and dangerous."

Two law enforcement officials told the AP that Tsarnaev and the other suspect, who was not immediately identified, had been living legally in the U.S. for at least one year. ...

  18. FT,
I think that it's quite clear now that the Boston bombings were likely the work of Islamic terrorists.

Many in that region of the world, in Chechnya and nearby, are jihadists and obtain training in Afghanistan.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Anyone want to make a bet that if the surviving Islamic Terrorist is captured alive [I sincerely HOPE not! He should be SHOT DEAD immediately on contact like the rabid cur he is.] he will be given the Major Hasan Treatment?

You can bet the farm on that. DAMN it to HELL!

  20. FT,
We rave on indignantly like shrieking maniacs about the EVILS of the millions of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS who for the most part live peaceably and productively among us...

I'm not the best person to respond objectively as I was permanently injured by an illegal under deportation order dating some 15 years; he was driving a cab. The way that contracts between cab companies and cab driver read, the cab company itself is very rarely liable.

The surreal part of the entire accident that I had: the man had some auto insurance, certainly enough to cover my medical bills and my missed time from work (in my case, no work, no pay -- never mind the loss of clientele over the next several years).

However, in the words of the court when my case was finally hear some four years later: "The sympathies of the court lie with the poor immigrant. If the situation were reversed [He ran a four-way stop sign and rear-ended me at 30-35 mph], he'd be taking you to the cleaners." I didn't even get enough of a settlement to pay my medical bills! No justice in THAT!

Furthermore, he didn't report the accident to his insurance company, nor did he show up for the mandated court appearance. Law enforcement showed no interest in apprehending him.

WHY SHOULD ANY DRIVER GET A PASS IF THAT DRIVER HAS SHOWN GROSS NEGLIGENCE?

I can't say for sure, but there may be many other situations similar to mine. It is not a satisfactory situation for those of us who have been what I've been through and am still enduring (permanent injury).

    ReplyDelete
  21. According to the WaPo: Tamerlan Tsarnaev was born in Russia and became a legal U.S. resident in 2007.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Duck,
I can't say for sure, but I'm guessing that the older of the two brothers was old enough to buy a firearm at a gun shop. From what I've learned so far, he could have passed a background check.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The older brother, now dead, was 26 years old.

  24. A couple of days ago, I read some nuts blaming the USA for the bombing, and thought the bombers were likely from Afghanistan or Iraq, and that we deserved to be bombed for invading those countries.

Never mind that we only invaded those countries due to terrorist aggression from them. And the main cause of death in both places has been the terrorist leaders... a situation that the US presence has REDUCED a lot.

Thankfully, those who sought to make political hay out of this with their "it is justified because it was terrorists fighting back justifiably because we are stopping their terrorism" were full of baloney.

  25. The uncle, Ruslan Tsarni, of the Tsarnaev brothers is now being interviewed on CNN. He says that the brothers have been here in the United States for about 8 years.

    ReplyDelete
  27. AOW, I've known about your very sad accident for quite some time, and I'm very sorry it happened to you, believe me, but I think the legal or illegal immigration status of that driver had little or nothing to do with the fact of your being injured. The driver was obviously incompetent and should not have been driving a cab, but this one bit of very bad luck for you really doesn't adequately define the character and competence of an entire population group. I know you know that. I don't blame you in the least for feeling bitter about it, but the lion's share of your anger really should be directed at the AUTHORITIES -- a judge wasn't it? -- who refused to render a decision that might have helped you recover from your injuries.

THAT is the part that strikes me as the worst aspect of an admittedly bad situation. But there again, if we look at it fairly, it isn't "THEM" it's "US" who are to blame. "WE" have consistently failed to protect ourselves and defend our interests.

If you want to blame someone, blame the DemonRats who do everything possible to make illegal immigration ATTRACTIVE to these poor people.

but again, I feel compelled o say that somewhere between eleven and twenty MILLION people can't be judged by ONE unfortunate incident.

As I've said many many times, MY considerable experience with Hispanics has been entirely positive.

  29. The FB page of the living suspect says his religion is Islam...big surprise. Not! And his YT page has many links to radical Islamic videos.

One thing I can't quite find however is this third suspect. Apparently there is a third guy who acted as an accomplice. Maybe its the black man that kept on being reported a few days ago, and was spotted again fleeing the gas station? The news, of course, is focused on the active terrorist.

  30. Meanwhile, Anzor Tsarnaev spoke to ABC News from his home in the Russian city of Makhachkala as Boston police carried out an intense dragnet for his son Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
The elder Tsarnaev insisted that his sons were innocent, but said he would appeal to his son to “surrender peacefully.”

“Give up. Give up. You have a bright future ahead of you. Come home to Russia,” the dad said.

The father warned, however, “If they kill him, then all hell will break loose.”

I do not define the character and competence of an entire population group by what happened to me. But court's position was unacceptable -- and unjust.

I guess my main point is this: with illegals here and with the courts not holding them accountable, American citizens can and do suffer as I have.

For the record, I have never said that immigrants -- illegal or legal -- are people to be automatically despised. Legal issues are a different matter entirely.

I think about the profile of the youngest bomber and it looks to me as if he fits a standard profile. Quiet, stayed to himself.
More in common with Adam Lanza than al-Qaeda.
You become alienated and something triggers horrific violence. If there is a solution to this it lies in the roots of that problem not going on about Islam.

There's a report that just down Main St. about 1000 yards from me a Muslim women wheeling a stroller was punched in the face (real hard guy friend of yours, Sam?) and accused. That's not going to be what my city is about.

Have to keep our wit and our humanity and figure this out.

  41. Chechnya has a sad history. The Russian empire invaded and conquered it in the 19th century for no other reason than might-makes-right. It fought free of the foreign colonizers in the 1990s, but Putin's Russia, establishing itself as an expansive empire again, re-invaded and conquered it.

A 16-year-old girl clinging to life at a Queens Hospital was attacked with a brick because she interrupted a Muslim boy who was trying to break into cars, court records show.

Michelle Rodriguez screamed out when she saw Omer Khogali, 17, pulling on the door handles of parked vehicles in Astoria on Tuesday, officials said.
The enraged 6-foot would-be thief caught up with Michelle later that night on 43rd St. Then he bashed her with the brick to shut her up, prosecutors said.

Michelle was still in critical condition Sunday at Elmhurst Hospital.

  52. Dated October 24, 2011:

Obama Administration Bans the Truth About Islam and Jihad

It has been a long time coming, but the Obama Administration has now officially banned the truth. Deputy U.S. Attorney General James Cole declared Wednesday at a conference in Washington that he had “recently directed all components of the Department of Justice to re-evaluate their training efforts in a range of areas, from community outreach to national security.” This “reevaluation” will remove all references to Islam in connection with any examination of Islamic jihad terror activity. The Obama Administration has now placed off-limits any investigation of the beliefs, motives and goals of jihad terrorists.

Dwight C. Holton, former U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon, emphasized that training materials for the FBI would be purged of everything politically incorrect: “I want to be perfectly clear about this: training materials that portray Islam as a religion of violence or with a tendency towards violence are wrong, they are offensive, and they are contrary to everything that this president, this attorney general and Department of Justice stands for. They will not be tolerated.”...
