...Called “flash robs,” these crimes are being organized by young teenagers through various social media outlets, most notably Twitter. Police say the suspects select a time and place and enter the store in droves taking what they want and leaving before security or police can catch them. Please watch the two short videos below the fold (hat tip to Mustang of Social Sense):
Some of the most brazen robberies take place in the light of day and on busy streets despite all the security cameras and the watchful eyes of workers....
In our nation's capital:
In Las Vegas:
Google search "teenage flash mobs" to learn more. These incidents are increasing in frequency in multiple locations.
Why are seeing this outbreak of lawlessness?
Welcome to Obamamerica. If we still locked up young criminals, and if unemployment wasn't so damned high, we probably wouldn't be seeing this.
ReplyDeleteOur society is crumbling around us...
Dare we suggest that the breakdown of the family is at the core? Forget the cops-I would have been grounded and assigned to slave labor at home until I was 30.
ReplyDeleteObama made pre-election promises that enhanced the already high sense of entitlement of certain groups. Two years later, conditions are worse, but the sense of entitlement is still there. If the government doesn't give them the free stuff fast enough, these thugs think they have a right to take it.
ReplyDeleteThe attitude at the DOJ under Holder and a media that refuses to accurately describe these mobs are also complicit in emboldening these brazen acts of entitlement.
o gosh how scary..what a world we live in...no fear no loyalty no respect..ARG!
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful weekend my friend!:)
10 more years of liberalism & there won't be anything left to steal.
ReplyDeleteAOW>>>Wilders ACQUITTED!! (sorry to be so off topic but I know you've followed that closely...will email you )
ReplyDeleteAs for this flash mob thing? how do we stop it, have guards at EVERY DOOR? this is awful and difficult to fight against. Where are PARENTS?
I have a theory.
ReplyDeletePeople will do what they know they can get away with.
This starts with their formative years and carries on.
Clearly, these youths know that when they overwhelm authority they can do what they will.
If even just a few of them are tracked down the rest of the mob gets to do what they want. Those that are caught are likely to get a mere slap on the wrist.
Score.
I recall the days of "streaking".. am I showing my age? This however, is something that started out as simply having some fun now has turned into something nasty. Another alert of the decline of our civilization.
ReplyDeleteFrom my experience here in Venezuela, it is a direct result of class warfare promoted by the highest levels of government. The difference here is that the flash mobs carry guns and they kill for fun. This type of vilolence could show up soon in America too. I pray it doesn't.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of my young adult "career" in retail. We'd get a pack of young people walk in our sportings goods store, and we'd go on full alert. Because experience taught us that a pack of teen-20s = theft. I came up with a code, "RBHs" (Roving Band of Hoodlums) when I called for backup from the warehouse.
ReplyDeleteNow they are using technology to coordinate these episodes. And they aren't trying to be sly shoplifters like they used to. Ain't modern life grand?
Z,
ReplyDeleteWilders ACQUITTED!!
I know! Isn't that wonderful news?
Now I can more easily distribute copies of Fitna to my history students. The cloud of the trial is no longer hanging over Wilders's head. Truth be told, I distributed copies last year anyway.
Incredible. Far too many people have lost any sense of right and wrong in this country.
ReplyDeleteThis is what happens when you have an entire generation bombarded with night in day with the lie that there is no right and wrong, and they are nothing more than animals.
ReplyDeleteHere's another one... this time in Chicago:
ReplyDeleteTeen Mob Hits Walgreens
Cube,
ReplyDeleteThese flash mobs are taking place in several cities.
Thanks for the link about the Walgreens in Chicago. They're also had some trouble on the Great Lakes beaches there, too. Had to close the beaches at one point, I think.
