More Outrageous Behavior From The TSA

From this source:
Elderly woman asked to remove adult diaper during TSA search

A woman has filed a complaint with federal authorities over how her elderly mother was treated at Northwest Florida Regional Airport last weekend.

Jean Weber of Destin filed a complaint with the Department of Homeland Security after her 95-year-old mother was detained and extensively searched last Saturday while trying to board a plane to fly to Michigan to be with family members during the final stages of her battle with leukemia.

Her mother, who was in a wheelchair, was asked to remove an adult diaper in order to complete a pat-down search.

“It’s something I couldn’t imagine happening on American soil,” Weber said Friday. “Here is my mother, 95 years old, 105 pounds, barely able to stand, and then this.”...

I'm guessing that the remainder of the journey without a diaper was less than pleasant. Humiliating, in fact.

No apology from the TSA is forthcoming.

What is wrong with the TSA agents, anyway?

  2. Will,
It smacks of conditioning -- what every tyranny has done down through the annals of history.

  3. How can anyone defend this sort of behavior? I can't believe what our country has become...

  4. It will soon be so common, it will no longer be reported. We will soon no longer be surprised. That is how they do it.

  5. This is beyond shameful. I'll bet that anyone who even remotely fit the profile of a terrorist was ushered through security, too.

  6. This is what we (Americans) get for trading our freedom for "security". I'll never forgive Bush for the Patriot Act. It wasn't necessary. And now our congress has renewed the Act for four more years. Sigh!

  7. What hath the right wing bed wetters wrought.

The good (Irony sigh is: UP) news is that these hacks unionized.

They'll be here even after the Afghanistan pull out is complete.

But we acted like a bunch of frightened children after 9/11 and here we are.

  8. Ducky, get a breath and think "But we acted like a bunch of frightened children after 9/11 and here we are."

Yes, and how many attacks have we stopped because we were smart and on alert? Gee, i just hate it when 3000 innocent people get attacked like that and people actually fear more, don't you? How dumb :-) (sarcasm)

hath we wrought this? REALLY? I seem to remember it's mostly Conservatives fighting to get these necessarily steps made SANE; we don't approve of patting down tiny children and Norwegians in wheel chairs. It's your big gov't gone mad that's doing this. Napolitano at her best (if she has one?)

I can't watch the video unless she...um...does take off the diaper.
I know it's nothing to make light of but...!

I suppose they're just doing their jobs, what's wrong with the idiot leftard politicians who insist on this type of stupidity when all they have to do is profile muslims and focus on them. After all, it's muslims who are bombing, murdering and pillaging, not white grannies in wheel chairs.
