The 2016 Iowa Caucuses

Sometimes a picture is worth 1,000 words, especially today:

Predictions, anyone?

And after the results are in, some Monday morning quarterbacking?

  1. Trump over Cruz by three points.
    Hillary over Bernie by one.

    1. Mirabile dictu I have to say I agree with you, Ducky. Where that might lead the nation I'm not prepared to say.

It appears the Clinton Machine is more powerful than all three branches of the U.S. government combined. Why this appears to be so OUGHT to demand a full scale investigation, but apparently, the "investigators" are all PART of the Clinton Machine.

The idea of Her Heinous becoming president turns my stomach, makes my flesh crawl, and gives me nightmares. If I were younger, stronger and not legally blind it could easily turn me into an expatriate. But where could I do? The last best hope for Man appears to be rapidly disintegrating into yet another People's Republik where "equality" means mutually shared poverty and universal deprivation.

While I vehemently disagree with Bernie Sanders' anti-Business, quasi-Marxist ideology, I would MUCH prefer to see HIM in the White House than H. Rotten Clinton.

    2. If the Clinton machine were all powerful she wouldn't be calling in a 3 million dollar spiff from George Soros as she did recently.

One thing that can be said for Trump (as much as I dislike him) and Bernie is that they are relatively free of the taint of outside money.

But where would you go? Do you speak Italian? I strongly recommend Florence but that may be the Renaissance calling me.

    5. Ducky,

Not bad. Your prognostication skills have a pretty good track record.

The Clinton Crime Syndicate's dirty pool probably stole it from Bernie.

On the GOP side, you underestimated the power of religious pandering and the fervid determination of the tent revivalists. But still, not bad.

NH should be easy to predict: Bernie and Trump.

How will this Wimpy Narsistic Cry Baby protect anyone from anything when he's askeerd of a petite blond news caster? Seriously, this is the most comical of his comedy, freak show -- so now hes throwing a hissy fit over Megyn Kelly? But he'll make China tremble. And he's going to be GREAT! But not great enough to be able to face a Fox news reader!. What a blown.
Vote for Hillary and you'll make America Great Again.

But, I'd bet that this won't hurt him, I'm sure, because his followers are in love with a caricature of a "strong" leader, when in fact, Donald Trump is the quintessential bully -- all bluster, but quick to turn tail and run away when someone intimidates him. In this case, an attractive petite blonde!

He wasn't "scared," dummy. This is moneyball. He deprived Fox of his drawing power and put a dent in their ratings.

Trump has answered more questions than any other candidate from a wide variety of sources, and he's answered them more candidly.

If you liked how Hillary wrecked Libya and caused the Million Muslim Man March into Europe, you'll love her as president.

  6. Hillary's emails are never going away until she can give plausible answers. Some say a big part of her problem is that she is boring. This is certainly something she can control.
It isn't like it is going to stop her from winning the nomination and then the presidency, because her supporters are too damn dumb to do otherwise.
The fact that the Democrats and media continue let Clinton off the hook related to this utter disaster just makes my head explode. It is just sicking and outrageous that she treats this like it is a trivial matter that should be ignored.

  9. Chelsea Clinton was recently photographed on an extravagant vacation with her husband Marc Mezvinsky, and daughter Charlotte in Turks and Caicos. While that may not seem too unusual, it’s how much the trip cost that has everyone talking…One night in top villa could cost as much or even more than average American makes in a year!
They stayed at the luxurious Amanyara hotel, which is known as ONE OF THE MOST EXPENSIVE RESORTS IN THE WORLD. The cheapest villa category in the low season costs $1,500 PER NIGHT, BUT PRICES RANGE ALL THE WAY UP TO $34,000 A NIGHT for a six-bedroom villa, and possibly more in the high season.
This news come after it was reported that they had just purchased a $10.5 million apartment at The Whitman, a new condo building in Madison Square Park, New York City, where their monthly mortgage bill will be somewhere in the region of between $52,000 and closer to $60,000 a month. She’s come a long way since they were dodging bullets in Bosnia.
Not too bad for someone who’s parents left the White House “Broke”!

  13. My two cents this morning...

Karl Rove and the rest of the GOP establishment are clapping like seals this morning because Marco Rubio scored in the top-three tier of the Iowa Caucuses.

Marco Rubio is the establishment GOP's anointed one. That's been true since at least October 2015.

If at all possible, the GOP establishment will prevent Ted Cruz from being the nominee.

  25. I think the reason there was so much interest in the Iowa caucuses is that everybody is keeping their TV's warm, waiting for the super bowl. There was absolutely nothing on if interest except the caucuses. Football is a whole lot more entertaining than politics. 26. I have been a Democratic activist for almost 30 years volunteering in every campaign since the 1988 Michael Dukakis campaign. I have volunteered at all levels of government from President to the City Council elections. In my life I have only one time voted against the Democrat and that was a local election where the Democratic candidate was a complete clown. I have always voted for the Democratic presidential candidate. It pains me to say this but if Hillary Clinton is the nominee I am going to have to vote for the Green Party candidate (most likely Jill Stein). Hillary is an opportunist that is crooked to the word go. The only reason why she is in the position she is in now is that She happens to be married to a former president.

I figure that since I live in Arizona where as a Democrat my vote does not matter anyway. Arizona has always been and will continue to be the reddest of the reddest of the red states so my Democratic vote means nothing anyway, Arizona's electoral votes will go to the Republican regardless. I have decided I will show my frustration with the system and vote Green this once (unless Bernie Sanders gets the nomination which unfortunately is not very likely).

  27. The day after the Iowa caucuses, Donald the Petulant, blamed the media and all the other meanies for his loss. Remember he predicted he'd win because he's great and he has the best team and he's great!

His love affair with himself didn't bring the victory in Iowa he bragged about, so Donald the Petulant did what every bully does, he blamed other people.

He's still ahead by quite a bit in New Hampshire. The old saying is "Iowa picks corn; New Hampshire picks presidents" is clever but remember that in 2000, New Hampshire picked John McCain.

IMO, neither Iowa nor New Hampshire represent the greater U.S. population. That's why the two popularity contests don't tell us much.

Any of these so called democrats are not actually who they are. They are socialist, communist, progressive and in most cases liberal all mean controlling the masses and heavy taxation. Everything and every decision will be made by them. They lure people with false promises, free things and a unrealistic utopia of rainbows and fluffy clouds with unicorns playing in the meadows! Wakeup people they are your worst nightmare. The Pied Pipers of the sheeple. Now we are almost 20 trillion in debt. So how is Bernie planning to pay for everything? How is Hillary getting away with everything? Now she is trying to lure the black votes by using reparations for slavery. How are we responsible for this now atleast 3 to 4 generations ago? When most of us came here from Europe in the later 1890's and early 1900's. Even still where are we getting this money? Why is the UN dictating things to us? It all stinks! I want my money too! I'm half Irish and we were consider less valueable back in the day for crappy labor. So were the Italians and the Chinese. We want our fair shair too Hillary! So stupid! And tiring!

The wingnuts have been stirring up hatred non stop against the Moslems for years, and Obama visits a mosque to show the Moslems that they're just as American as the wingnuts who want to see them thrown out of their own country --like Trump said. So the kneejerk reaction from the wingnuts is to call Obama divisive and they're angry that he went to a mosque? Theyre the ones who are being divisive, writing about the Moslems as devils and hoping Trump who wants to spy on mosques and not let them into the country will be the next president and do their dirTy tricks
