Fairfax Co. schools debating proposal to protect transgender students, teachers from discrimination [for pre-K through 12th grade]

    Excerpt:

There is a debate among administrators and parents at Fairfax County Public Schools on whether transgender students and teachers should be protected from discrimination and if they should be allowed to share restrooms with everyone else.

The school board is proposing a policy that would protect gender identity. In other words, transgender individuals from discrimination

“Parents will be prohibited from transferring their child out of the classroom of a transgender teacher,” said Andrea Lafferty, president of the Traditional Values Coalition....

  3. Before we go to Obama's record, let's consider the things that contributed to our current economic crisis, without the liberal's typical excuse of blaming everything on George W. Bush like Dave Miller seems to love to do. . First of all, a lot of our financial troubles go all the way back to 911 and the damage done to our economy from the terrorists' attack on the World Trade Center. Between 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina our economy suffered devastating effects from these two incidents alone, and was barely teetering on the edge. Except for a few conspiracy folks like the 9/11 truthers, most wouldn't even try to blame George Bush for these events.

But now it’s time to move on, and the thing that worries me the most is the question of While we endure the daily lies of President Obama, are we going to have to listen to more lies and false headlines? Do we really want to have another four to eight years more of Hillary Clinton’s daily lies like we have had with President Obama, do we really want to have another four to eight years to see our country doing down the toilet with Hillary Clinton at the helm? This is a very dangerous individual, all we can hope for is the GOP to find their *balls* and run someone that can FIGHT her, not acquiesce to her in a gentlemanly fashion.

Many of us real Americans hoped that the GOP would take that majority and use it to rein in the sheer stupidity that was flowing from Washington, D.C. and Barack Obama.
Many saw an opportunity to turn this nation around, restore the good name of America, rebuild our military, restore our credit rating as a nation and to put this nation back on a course to become the greatest Super Power the world had ever seen.

But I guess that it was not meant to be; we didn’t factor in the RINO vote. And so we got what we deserved, I guess that the usual suspects sold us out once more..

In the end several Republicans to the surprise of many of their own colleagues — voted aye for Loretta Lynch, including Mr. McConnell.
So in essence, it’s time for “We The People” to ignore Obama’s so called laws. Thanks to the asshole RINOS, we now have a female Eric Holder running the Justice Dept.

I’m sure most have heard the expression *pulling defeat from the jaws of victory*, well, it’s supposed to read the other way, but it appears to me that the GOP, at least this current batch, is exactly what I have called them for a long time; the weakest, most spineless bunch of miscreants that the voters could find.

I know that Ted Cruz missed the vote, that is a well-known fact.
I don’t know if Cruz missed it because he had more pressing matters and assumed the GOP was going to carry the day or if perhaps he already knew that there weren’t enough voted to stop another socialist douchbag like Loretta Lynch from being seated.

  4. I find this rash of 'transgendered' children disturbing. Are there really that many genuine cases? Is it literally something in the water (or food)?

Could this really be people putting innocent children on the vanguard of some twisted agenda?

I understand and agree with the push against hatred and bigotry, but much of what is going on today is way past that. An anything-goes society with no guardrails, no shared morals and no sense of right and wrong is no society at all, and it will eventually come apart.

    1. There was no transgender when I was in school, and no suicide for having had to keep quiet.

My sister tells me of a middle school where the walls are graffiti'd by teachers with "LGBT?" all over........middle school kids. Who knew what LESBIAN or TRANSGENDER or BI was in elementary school when we were kids? SO, I realized that not only is this choice given to them, but they have also been taught what it means.

Children who were different might have been hurt; I was particularly tall for a girl and didn't develop young so I was hurt. A few of the boys were quite heavy and they were hurt. One kid had a really big nose; I suppose he was hurt, too. and teased. No suicides.

There were gay people then; they kept their sexuality to themselves....like we all do now...married or not. Do you talk to others about your sex life with your wife?
I once told a young girlfriend that she couldn't be truly in love with the guy if she'd tell me such intimate 'goings on' in the bedroom.....she was angry; then called weeks later and said I was right.

There's nothing wrong with age appropriate learning of things like LGBT...but I think championing these things as we are by, for example, dwelling on Bruce Jenner's situation ...(it's EVERYWHERE) is not healthy and very sad. I wish him the best; I hope he does whatever he has to do IN PRIVATE, but then where's the financial benefit?

    2. Re: children who were hurt. Dennis Prager talks about being the big/tall kid who made it his mission to take out bullies (they kept a chair in the principal's office just for him). But real men all over did this. Mr. B was a star athlete and class president. He had an eye out for the picked on ones and got likeminded guys on the team to join him in giving bullies a good talking to.

    3. I can understand gender confusion issues during puberty, but 5 years old? Children have no concept of sexuality at that age. All they know is boys are boys and girls are girls, and all by superficial observation of externals.

Also, it is probably not outside the normal range for young children to act like the other gender or want to dress like that, but it doesn't follow that that means you need to gender reassign them.

And I take no solace from 'experts' with psychology degrees who say this is all OK. Many people go into psychology because they are screwed up, and I've seen cases of such twisted freaks with PhD projecting their pathologies on their patients.

Would you really want someone making a permanent, life-changing decision for you based upon what you wanted when you were five years old? Or even as a teenager?

This generation of parents and grandparents are batty. They're sick, and they are infecting their children and grandchildren with their mental illnesses.

    1. There were, but nobody talked about it, except the kids. The kids always knew when another kid was different, and they were never very kind or understanding about it. There was a lot of suffering in silence, wasted lives, and probably many suicides as misfits grew to realize there was no place they could be accepted, unless they could live a lie successfully.

    3. That's right, Ed...it's almost championed.... I think we are ALL confused when we start learning about sex...only WE probably learned about it a LOT LOT later than kids do today; that's supposed to be 'open minded' and 'so cool' for the kids. I think it's a really hard road for them; they're not ready and they have this stuff thrown at them. Very confusing; not time to 'come out' of anything....

    4. I agree with Jennifer as well, but Ed too has a point.

First, yes, there have always been gender dysphoric children and adults. Some can work through it and live a heterosexual life, others cannot and either embrace their homosexuality (I know, they are technically two separate things) or they end up unable to bear life's burdens. They deserve our love and understanding, not ridicule.

What I see happening is what Ed and millions of others see: An active campaign to pull kids over the fence, and I use that metaphor on purpose. Puberty is a raging sea of hormones and emotions, difficult to navigate even in the best of circumstances. Early sexual experiences can cause psychological imprinting, but studies indicate that such imprinting is not deterministic in all but the most extreme cases (rape, incest, etc).

An adolescent who has had a homosexual encounter may not be gay, but pop culture says the opposite. This is what people mean when they talk about recruitment. There is a dedicated core of weirdos who detest any and all gender-normative training and imprinting on children. No doubt, some of this stems from adults who had bad childhoods, or from men who suffered under well-intentioned coaches, scoutmasters and older male family members who tried to 'make a man out of them,' by making them engage in sports, hunting or other manly pursuits against the child's will.

I dunno. I think our society is sick, and I'm not just talking about homosexual agendas. Indeed, gay people can be well-adjusted, and heteros have done more damage to marriage than gays have.

We have sick adults in our society, and they are projecting their fears, aversions, bitterness and bugaboos on our children, and the trend will continue until it no longer can.

  7. When I attended a university graduation two years ago or so, I was introduced to a new term: LBGTQ. The acronym was repeated over and over again by the student speaker, who went on and on about how the university was so open-minded, etc., etc. The speaker was not the valedictorian but rather the student who won the contest for student speaker at the graduation ceremony.

I came up and looked up this acronym. This is what I found: Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transgender, and Questioning.

I also looked up something else that the student mentioned: "The LGBTQ Club." At that time, it had five members. Yet, the speech the student made when on and on about the club.

Equally as disturbing were the Dean's remarks, which followed the student's speech. At least twice, he said, "Go out there, and have a helluva good time." Those words sum up the essence of the dean's speech. Sheesh.

    1. We are in an age of perpetual adolescence. There are no adults. I blame the Baby Boomer generation

(but not all baby boomers!!! Please don't dogpile me!)

My mom and dad are boomers, and they were not dope smoking hippies, and they didn't grow up to be perpetual teenagers who were permissive parents who tried to stay hip. No, like most baby boomers, they emulated their serious parents and became responsible adults who did their damndest to raise good kids and teach them morals and virtues.

But the hippies and the red diaper doper baby (Michael Savage's coinage) minority of that era took over the levers of power (government, academia, press, pop culture) and screwed up subsequent generations.

There is always hope. Gen X'ers (my generation) are more conservative than their parents, and from what I read, the trend continues. Even as younger folks vote democrat, the majority (that you don't see in spring break videos or reality tv shows) live fairly conservative lives.

  8. Will schools now actively promote mental illness?

Here's why I've asked the question:

    From
Johns Hopkins Psychiatrist: Transgender is ‘Mental Disorder;' Sex Change ‘Biologically Impossible’"
    August 20, 2014:

Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, said that transgenderism is a “mental disorder” that merits treatment, that sex change is “biologically impossible,” and that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are collaborating with and promoting a mental disorder.

    [...]

He also reported on a new study showing that the suicide rate among transgendered people who had reassignment surgery is 20 times higher than the suicide rate among non-transgender people. Dr. McHugh further noted studies from Vanderbilt University and London’s Portman Clinic of children who had expressed transgender feelings but for whom, over time, 70%-80% “spontaneously lost those feelings.”

While the Obama administration, Hollywood, and major media such as Time magazine promote transgenderism as normal, said Dr. McHugh, these “policy makers and the media are doing no favors either to the public or the transgendered by treating their confusions as a right in need of defending rather than as a mental disorder that deserves understanding, treatment and prevention.”

    [...]

The pro-transgender advocates do not want to know, said McHugh, that studies show between 70% and 80% of children who express transgender feelings “spontaneously lose those feelings” over time. Also, for those who had sexual reassignment surgery, most said they were “satisfied” with the operation “but their subsequent psycho-social adjustments were no better than those who didn’t have the surgery.”

“And so at Hopkins we stopped doing sex-reassignment surgery, since producing a ‘satisfied’ but still troubled patient seemed an inadequate reason for surgically amputating normal organs,” said Dr. McHugh.

    [...]

“’Sex change’ is biologically impossible,” said McHugh. “People who undergo sex-reassignment surgery do not change from men to women or vice versa. Rather, they become feminized men or masculinized women. Claiming that this is civil-rights matter and encouraging surgical intervention is in reality to collaborate with and promote a mental disorder.”

I say no but you may feel more comfortable with a simple theory.

I'm surprised that you all feel we have a complete understanding of human sexuality

Ahem. That could also apply to harm done by the push to normalize transgenderism.

The article to which I linked above has its main point the drawbacks of gender-reassignment surgery.

Dr. McHugh also points out the following:

The transgendered person’s disorder, said Dr. McHugh, is in the person’s “assumption” that they are different than the physical reality of their body, their maleness or femaleness, as assigned by nature. It is a disorder similar to a “dangerously thin” person suffering anorexia who looks in the mirror and thinks they are “overweight,” said McHugh.

This assumption, that one’s gender is only in the mind regardless of anatomical reality, has led some transgendered people to push for social acceptance and affirmation of their own subjective “personal truth,” said Dr. McHugh.

"Subjective personal truth" is dangerously close to schizophrenia, IMO.

      Actually I don't a crap.

To paraphrase EB; XX is XX and XY is XY. There is an occasional XYY which in all respects seems to be a normal male and an occasional XXY or multiples of Xs and a Y which can be a mixed bag of physical sexual characteristics. Genetically they are considered male as they do have a Y chromosome. Some are born with only female external organs or male organs or a mixture of both and trend to be non-functional or sterile.

In any case, we e not talking about true hermaphrodites and it's pointless to change the whole of our society to preserve the "feelings" (and that's all they are) of a few nuts cases that wish they were male or female when they are not.

What they are doing is seeking validation from the whole of society for a mental aberration. OK, here's my validation; yep there's no doubt, you're nutty as a jar of "Planters Deluxe" with a hand full of peanuts thrown in.

How his spine was snapped and how his voice box was crushed are under investigation.

According to a 2008 lawsuit against a Sandtown-Winchester housing complex where Gray and his sisters lived, the lead poisoning caused medical, behavioral, and educational problems for the children. Terms of the settlement were not publicly revealed.

Now see this about lead poisoning:

Lead affects every one of the body's organ systems, especially the nervous system, but also the bones and teeth...

More information about lead poisoning HERE (different link).

I have to wonder if Mr. Gray had a problem with bone density. Perhaps the officers handled him in the traditional way, but Mr. Gray's physical problems resulted in something never intended by the police.

The above said, over the years I've known several white men who were arrested and handled roughly. Too roughly. These men were not resisting arrest in any way and were not being arrested for any capital crime -- no criminal record, either.

  12. Let us begin with the understanding that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention has come to the conclusion that there is no connection between the climate and health. And nothing to do with whether you are sneezing today or out on the beach getting a sun-tan.
It seems the Pacific Ocean is getting colder. The liberal pin-heads asks why? But the Pinhead say the wind is blowing too hard, and blowing the cold air, it seems, down into the Pacific, deep down...which of course is forcing the cool air up to the surface and cooling off the air all over the globe....but its still global warming, according to these yahoos.

And then the damn Pinheads try to sell us that the climate changes over extended periods of time and does effect our health, and they wonder why we don’t and won't believe a word they say.

Justifiable? It’s bad enough when they lie to each other, but what do you call someone who has to lie to themselves? Like when they tell us that Global Warming gave Malia Obama asthma! Yes, our Dear leader, Barack Hussain Obama blames Global Warming for his daughter's asthma and showed us all his incompetence and lack of education once again...
And He Also, Magically Forgot about Main Cause of Children Asthma - Smoking Parents It’s pathetic that the president of the United States uses his own child’s illness to push his fallacious political rhetoric. I guess that it’s true, once a liar always a liar.

Here’s what the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America has to say about the various causes of asthma.

“Since asthma has a genetic origin and is a disease you are born with, passed down from generation to generation, the question isn’t really ‘what causes asthma’, but rather ‘what causes asthma symptoms to appear?’ People with asthma have inflamed airways which are super-sensitive to things which do not bother other people.”

What the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America is telling us is that there is no direct connection between either the climate or the weather and the illness called asthma.

Those who suffer this disease however can be affected by a range of triggers such as irritants in the air, pollens, molds, and even cockroach droppings. Infections such as colds, flu, and sore throats are among the leading triggers for asthma attacks in children.
