Multiple Shots Fired In Chattanooga: Armed Forces Career Center AND Navy Recruitment Center

What I've been following and posting about today at Infidel Bloggers Alliance....

FOUR MARINES KILLED!

From Reuters:
There have been shootings at multiple places in Chattanooga, including near a U.S. Army Reserve center and a Navy recruiting center in the Tennessee city on Thursday, and a police officer was hit by gunfire, officials and local media reports said.

There have been several shootings at several different locations," said Tennessee Highway Patrol spokesman John Harmon. "It's a fluid situation," said Harmon, whose agency was helping local authorities.

"We've got an officer down," Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke told reporters, calling it a "very terrible situation."

The U.S. Navy said it was investigating a report of a shooting at a Navy recruiting center in Chattanooga....
An eyewitness, a woman who states that she was 10 feet away from shooter, is saying that she was "a white guy in a silver Mustang." No tags on the car. The shooter was using a "high-powered rifle."

The photo that I'm seeing on CNN is showing at least 18 bullet holes in the doors of the Navy Reserve Recruiting Station, which is in a strip mall.

There is also an unconfirmed report of a man driving a black BMW firing on the other location.

The two sites fired upon are 7.5 miles apart.

CNN's ongoing coverage is HERE.

Addendum 1: Chattanooga Police are Tweeting out that the active shooter situation is resolved. News conference coming in a few minutes.

Addendum 2: According to reports on CNN, the shooter is dead (Confirmed by Reuters). Buildings still remain on lock down, however.

Addendum 3: Four Marines injured [UPDATE: MARINES KILLED]. Chattanooga City Police officer wounded, but not seriously.

Addendum 4: Lock downs have ended. There are reports that the shooter and/or the police fired 100 rounds and that there was a shootout between the shooter and the police - with the end coming with two shots neutralizing the shooter after he fled into the woods of the big park in that part of Chattanooga.

SITUATION STILL FLUID AT THIS TIME (2:25 PM, EDT)

UPDATE:

Police sources are saying that the shooter's name was Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez.

From Heavy.com:
He Was a Naturalized U.S. Citizen Originally From Kuwait.

An ISIS-Affiliated Account Tweeted #Chattanooga Just Before the Shooting Occurred Along With a Warning to Americans.
Read the rest HERE.

Furthermore and apparently:

Youssuf Abdullazeez was appointed as a special policeman for the City of Chattanooga Department of Public Works according to this City Council resolution.

Heavy.com now has this information:
Abdulazeez graduated from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga in 2012, according to posts on his mother’s Facebook page and a resume posted on Indeed.com.

He graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked from April 2009 to April 2010 as an intern with the Tennessee Valley Authority. He also had internships at Mohawk Industries and Global Trade Express.

CBS News incorrectly reported that he was an employee of the city of Chattanooga.

2 questions. 1) Was the gunman black? 2) Was his name Mohammed?

  3. What's important is not whether the shooter was black, but the victims.

  7. Jon,
The news sites are retracting the information about his being a special policeman.

  8. Nope; theres at least a third kind. The Muslim interpreter who saved the life of an infidel who invaded his nation. And he was quite fond of barbecued steaks and chorizo's.

  9. I just heard a news report that the Chattanooga jihadist's father had been on a watch list. Apparently the father is an employee of the city of Chattanoga -- as shown by the screenshot in the body of the blog post.

There are some I know who will do the right thing.

    1. How do you know which ones? In advance, I mean.

Reports so far seem to indicate that today's jihadist in Chattanooga should have been trustworthy and unlikely to become a jihadist.

  11. OK, some one is going to say to the effect that most Muslims are peace loving..................bla, bla bla. Does anyone really think that [they] will do anything, at all, to thwart the hostile acts of the others which will, no doubt, increase?

  12. The Chattanooga jihadist's high school and college photos depict a well-assimilated Muslim.

High school and college yearbooks are filled with similar photos of Muslims.

Nevertheless, look what happened today in Chattanooga.

One of the slain Marines had previously been awarded the Purple Heart. And he was gunned down in a recruitment center! Here in America!

So, what's next? More shaking of heads? More shrugs?

FYI....It has been about 75 days since the jihad attack on Garland, Texas (May 3, 2015).

  13. There are Muslims who will never harm you. But if you are killed in a terror attack it will be a Muslim.

I do not believe in watch lists. I think if the government has that big of a concern, if a Muslim was not born on U.S. soil, a revoked visa or revoked citizenship are in order. If a U.S. citizen has converted to Islam and appears to be a threat because of the religion - they must be quickly taken off the street.

The duty of our government is first and foremost the protection of peaceful U.S. citizens. The rest, should be sent to whatever hell hole they came from in the first place.

I was at the Geller event that was attacked on May 3rd. Ms. Geller was mercilessly slandered and assaulted by the media as if she (and all of us) deserved to be killed. Now only about ten week later, four United States Marines are assassinated. What did they do to deserve to be killed. Shall we slander them?

What will we do when we have an attack every damn week on U.S. soil? I hold the government responsible. Period.

*I ate about 1/2 can of Pringles and a container of French Onion dip while talking to AOW tonight. When I am upset, I eat. I am looking to order a Primo meat pizza next.

The way that our political leadership is “thinking,” nothing. We will be, at the same time, told the following: (1) “Don’t change your way of life” and (2) “These attacks aren’t perpetrated by the real Islam” and (3) “Be on the lookout — see something, say something.”
