Jobs That Americans Won't Do?

The reality now may be more about illegal aliens getting jobs that Americans would do if given the chance.

Recent data from Pew Research Center, not a bastion of conservatism, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics, a unit of the United States Department of Labor, is grim.

From Illegal Immigrants Outnumber Unemployed Americans:
The number of illegal immigrants in the United States totaled 11.3 million in 2014, outnumbering the 9.6 million Americans who were unemployed in the same year, according to data from Pew Research Center and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

“An estimated 11.3 million unauthorized immigrants lived in the U.S. in 2014,” says a Pew report. “The new unauthorized immigrant total includes people who cross the border illegally as well as those who arrive with legal visas and remain in the U.S. after their visas expire.”

Of those 11.3 illegal immigrants, 8.1 million are participating in the labor force. “Unauthorized immigrants make up 5.1% of the U.S. labor force,” Pew says. “In the U.S. labor force, there were 8.1 million unauthorized immigrants either working or looking for work in 2012.”

In 2014, there were 1.7 million more illegal immigrants living in the United States than there were unemployed Americans. According to the BLS, the average number of unemployed Americans in 2014 was 9.6 million. The BLS defines an unemployed individual as someone who did not have a job but actively sought one in the past four weeks.

The executive action on immigration President Obama put in place in November of 2014 is set to help more illegal aliens become active in the labor force....

Is it any wonder that Donald Trump poll numbers are so high?

  1. About Trump's poll numbers. My young [Democrat] trainer asked me what I thought of him. I didn't have a great opinion, but mentioned at least he spoke clearly on an issue where our voice has been taken away by our government. And he unloaded - VERY much in agreement. Thinks Trump is a bombast but loves THIS message and thinks it needs to be said. He is warming to Trump.

One anecdotal report does not an election make. But worth mentioning.

    1. Baysider,
From what I've observed, some portions of Trump's message resonate along the political spectrum -- except, of course, with the hardcore Left and the Neo-cons and RINO's.

The impact of Obama's lack of enforcement of immigration laws has become obvious in communities all across America -- not just in the metropolitan areas. People are seeing the ESL programs sucking much of the oxygen out of the air in the public school systems, particularly with regard to the amount of teacher and curricular attention for average students. Never mind that ESL programs do not work all that well after the first year in such a program.

  2. Obama said he would fundamentally transform America, and importing immigrants and making sure they do not assimilate is just one aspect of his very serious plan.

Obama's societal vandals are carrying out their audacious plan in broad daylight, poised with the 'racism' hammer over our heads and daring us, just daring us whities to say something about it.

  3. If the Democrats hadn't turned our Representative Republic of loosely-federated INDEPENDENT states into a dumb-MOCK-racy, and spoiled what-would-normally-be "The Working Class" with Welfare State incentives to stay home and in Government-Subsidized Housing, swilling down Junk Food bought with Food Stamps in front of Big-Screen TV's all day instead of WORKING for a LIVING, the flood tide of illegal immigration would have remained at a trickle, and the problem over which we agonize and vituperate now would not exist.

Out-Of-Control UNIONISM (a Marxian initiative) and the WELFARE STATE (full-blown Marxism at work) are responsible for our present plight.

It is morally wrong for us to gang up on the Illegal Aliens who are in fact making a significant contribution by performing tasks that desperately need to be done when it is entirely our OWN fault that their presence has become a crying need.

Turn off the WELFARE TAPS, STERILIZE WELFARE MOTHERS after the second child, DENY FOOD STAMPS to all but infants and toddlers, and soon things would right themselves, because people would HAVE to WORK in order to avoid DYING in the STREETS.

    HARSH?

YOU BET! but NECESSARY if we are to avoid being transformed into a Soviet-Style Socialist Republik, which is EXACTLY what OVOMIT and his HENCH-CREW have been doing right in front of our faces for nigh onto SEVEN YEARS.

If we're going to BEAT SOMEBODY to a PULP, let's make sure it's the RIGHT GUY.

BEAT the D'RATS, NOT the ILLEGALS.

    1. And I should have added:

BEAT the RINOS into the ground, stomp on their bloody remains, and set fire to whatever may be left of the slimy, self-serving, traitorous bastards.

RINOS make even deadlier enemies than overt Marxists, Liberals, Progressives and Socialists.

      Disbelieve this at your peril.

We aren't going to agree completely on this matter. In part, yes -- but not completely.

In my view, the government needs to butt out of taking the moral high road. So often, the pavement on that moral high road gets warped. Why? Because different people have different views as to what morality is.

Welfare State incentives and other government programs are also offered to illegal immigrants.

Case in point: Why should the children of illegal immigrants get gratis speech therapy when an American citizen's children cannot get that same gratis speech therapy? I know of exact cases such as that.

Also, the burden of illegal aliens on our healthcare system is extensive -- and drives up the dost for the rest of us, who are already footing our own bills (tax bills included).

Am I ganging up on illegal aliens? In a way, yes, I am. American citizens, the taxpayers, should be the group that our government first seeks to protect.

Moreover, a sovereign nation will not remain a sovereign nation without borders. Much like one's own home without a lock on the door -- or a door at all.

      Addendum...

Our leaders fault! Vote 'em out. Seal that border, then deal with the illegals already here. That's the only viable path now, IMO.

FT: Yes, of course, and that is EXACTLY the point I've been trying desperately to make for several years.

The Left acted a MAGNET for the WORST, LEAST HELPFUL, LEAST AMBITIOUS, MOST DISHONEST, often CRIMINAL elements to come here to get the "FREEBIES."

Had that not occurred, we wouldn't feel compelled –– or feel any NEED –– to have these discussions.

I'm not sure that Trump will run as a third party candidate. He has waffled on that issue.

Clearly, Trump has tapped into a base of angry Americans.

    I say:

There's no way to beat the D'rats without also beating the illegals. The two are now joined at the hip; and let us make no mistake: the D'rats are looking for a guaranteed voting bloc.

Not that the RINO's are not also complicit. THEY ARE!

  6. From Border Patrol Ordered The Release Of An Illegal Alien, Now Accused Of Murder And Attempted Rape Of Child:

Sheriff’s deputies in Lake County, Ohio were reportedly told by federal immigration authorities on July 7 to release an illegal alien who on Monday murdered a 60-year-old woman, attempted to rape a teenage girl, and tried to kill another woman.

Juan Emmanual Razo, 35, is being held on $10 million bond in the murder of Margaret Kastelnick, according to the Northeast Ohio Media Group.

Razo allegedly embarked on a violent crime spree that began Monday morning when he attempted to rape a 14-year-old girl and shot another woman. Razo, who has been in the U.S. for five years, later killed Kastelnick in her home. He was apprehended following a shootout with police.

Illegal aliens are not all sweetness and light.

Note that the above happened in Ohio -- not in a border state.

  8. Trump has only so far pointed out the obvious. Illegal Immigration is a problem.

So what is he going to do about it. And what are the other problems that he would do something about and what exactly would he do. He might be good for America, but so far, there is nothing to go on. Talking about a problem makes people think the candidate will do something about it. Nope. That's the oldest trick in the book.
I could say "IRS is corrupt and needs to be replaced by a flat tax!" and people Should say "Yea kid, so what are you planning to do about it".

Let's demand more from these candidates.
