  1. I hope you're going to an elegant spa for some well-deserved R 'n R where you will be pampered 24/7.

    Enjoy it to the hilt
    And don't feel any guilt.
    It's great to be dependable,

    Even YOU!

    Happy New Year!

    1. FT,
Sad to say, no spa for me! I couldn't enjoy it, anyway -- not with this lumbar spine pain and related problems.

I hope to get immediate relief on December 31, when I see my trusted medical specialist for spine problems. Sometimes, he has a simple and immediate solution.

Meanwhile, it's Tiger Balm and hot baths for me. When I resume teaching classes on January 6, I'll be doing the Tiger-Balm-and-hot-bath routine in the morning and the evening.

  2. Take care, my friend. I've gone through two operations for herniated disc. I know something of the pain you are enduring. Horrible!

    1. FT,
One thing is for sure: I'll not be dancing this New Year's Eve.

Ah, well. As I often say, "It could be worse."

  4. I hope your regime of Tiger Balm and heat is at least alleviating some of your discomfort.
    All the best, AOW

    1. Z,
I'm getting a bit of relief. But not enough!

I feel lopsided. Something is seriously out of whack.

I see the spine specialist on December 31. Hope that he will do something to stop this pain cycle -- if only temporarily.

    2. AOW, do you sleep on foam or a box spring?

    3. I'm a big proponent of foam.

My Tempurpedic has saved me some pain.

    1. Bunkerville,
Not any better yet. I see the lumbar-pain specialist tomorrow afternoon.

I will return to blogging tomorrow in a Happy-New-Year post. Then back to some sort of political blogging on January 3. My posting schedule may be curtailed for a while, but I am planning to come out of hiatus.

I have it on good authority (the horse's mouth, as it were!) that AOW got a good deal of relief from her session with the doctor yesterday.

So all is much better, if not completely well, at least for the for the time being. Let us shout Hosannah! Hallelujah! and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Things in the AOW household appear to be off to a good start this New Year.

Let us rejoice and be glad.

    1. Watchman,
Definitely some rejoicing this morning here in this household!

I'll have a post on the topic tomorrow.
