A Few ObamaCare Analogies

President Obama has admitted the launch of ACA has not worked as smoothly as it was supposed to, and the New York Times has pointed out that as many are five million lines of code may need to be rewritten.

The analogies are below the fold (hat tip to Infidel Bloggers Alliance commenter Ciccio):
In other news:

The Russian communist party admitted it has suffered some slight setbacks in its goal of Marxist-Leninist utopia.

The Titanic ran into some ice on its maiden voyage to New York.

Western Union has lost some ground in its telegram business.

Kodak seems to have some problems with the sales of its films and cameras.

  4. Pretty good article on the nature of ACA

Until we unify in our opposition to "for profit" we are at the mercy of the market.

  7. Considering it took me a year of changing passwords and IDs, and calling corporate HQ several times just to log in and check my annuities with a large
financial institution, I am not surprised. Code writers write code that looks
nice to them, not with the end user in mind! Given also, that many of the
'common folks' are not computer savy (well OK they have a million apps on
their obnoxious smartphones), it would make sense to get the local insurance businesses involved. They know the stuff, they could give personal assistance, talk a consumer through the varieties of offerings vs costs and probably would
be worth paying a fee for. Many people deal better face to face than with the
cold heartless computer. Just my take on it.

  8. Those are all good, especially the Titanic. But it sank and I fear Obamcare is here to stay.

    QUOTE

The judge will not issue an injunction to stop the IRS from issuing subsidies, meaning Obamacare can move forward as planned. However, the lawsuit will also move forward and depending on the outcome, could limit IRS power to issue Obamacare subsidies.

A federal judge has refused to dismiss a lawsuit challenging the legality of Obamacare subsidies distributed by the IRS to people enrolling in the new healthcare system. The Department of Justice has argued for months the lawsuit should be dismissed. More from the Wall Street Journal:

  9. I find it HILLARIOUS to listen to establishment Republican "pundits" lament that were it not for the STUPID shutdown strategy, the FAILURES of the Obamacare launch would have gotten widespread critical press coverage... that the shutdown "overshadowed" coverage.

I thinks that THAT specific canard ignores the total duplicity of the liberal MSM media. Were it NOT for the shutdown, there would be NO news of failing Obamacare launch. The cloak of Gyges covers EVERY Obama failure.

...as evidenced by the fact FIVE years into a failed recovery (since NO action that would LEAD to a recovery has actually been taken) the unemployment numbers went DOWN 0.1%.. not because more JOBS were created, but because MORE American fell out of the labour market.

  11. So Millions of Americans waited for Odumbass’s speech for him to explain why the Website wasn’t working, just to see if he was he going to blame Bush or Ted Cruz?
I myself tried to sigh up just so I wouldn’t be called a Racist. By the way, I’m not a racist, I hate everyone equally, except for conservative white people
I had no idea how that stupid Canadian mad thing was supposed to work, there are over 5 hundred thing in it that need to be fixed. There are not glitches in the website but rather gaping chasms of FUBAR. This thing was never designed to work.
Face it, fellow racists! ObamaCare is a smashing success whether it is or not! Just ask MSNBC! Where were all of you haters when George W Bush tried to tell you that.

But the one think I didn’t know was that ObamaCare will provide FREE health care for Obama’s kids and the Moochers isn’t that enough to justify the trillions thrown into ObamaCare?

  12. Speaking of the Titanic; I wish to point out that these enrollment "glitches" are but the" tip of the iceberg" and the real destruction lies beneath the surface. A reported 22,700 pages of legal BS, concocted in the dead of night-behind closed doors, is patently unworkable and will self-destruct.
