Dated December 21, 2012: Mr. Obama repeatedly lost patience with the speaker as negotiations faltered. In an Oval Office meeting last week, he told Mr. Boehner that if the sides didn't reach agreement, he would use his inaugural address and his State of the Union speech to tell the country the Republicans were at fault.

At one point, according to notes taken by a participant, Mr. Boehner told the president, "I put $800 billion [in tax revenue] on the table. What do I get for that?"

[...]

The president repeatedly reminded Mr. Boehner of the election results: "You're asking me to accept Mitt Romney's tax plan. Why would I do that?"

  1. Sorry to go a bit off topic, but do you really want to see the height of hypocrisy? So you want to know just how Obama thinks and wants to stick it in the face of every hard working and struggling American? Obama has decided that Vice President Biden, and all the members of Congress, and most federal workers should get raises for the hard work they did in 2012. As id the U.S. government isn't in deep enough water and is losing its luster on the bond market and as the fiscal cliff hangs over our heads, our dear President Obama issued an executive order to give everyone raises. Obama has generously bestowed a $6,379 per year raise to Grinning Uncle Joe. Hows them chickens? I think it's freakin unbelievable! All I can say to you is, America it´s what you voted for, now you got it.!

  3. I think the GOP has gone about the "fiscal cliff" talks completely wrong.

Right from the beginning they should have agreed with Obama that yes, they would be blamed for going over the cliff initially but was he willing to bet that the public would still feel this way in two years?

The bottom line is the public will give the GOP the blame (but it appears by not a huge margin). Voters are stupid though. The memory of the average voter is about 1 - 2 weeks. When the mid-terms come around and the economy is still in the toilet, will the public blame the GOP for something that happened two years before or will they blame a sitting President who has not gotten the economy under control in 6 years?

I am not advocating going over, just showing a little backbone with Obama and stop bending over for him.

  4. Obama tries to convince us that nothing is his fault, Hillary has been trying to pull the wool over our eyes, they all think that we are such fools that they can do anything and get away with it.

Sorry, but this is not the America that I knew and that I served 4 years in the US Army for. I don't even recognize her any longer. This has been a long nightmare. As they say, It’s all over but the shouting. Our four year nightmare is about to transform into an 8 year nightmare
I used to say that this Country could survive ANY President for eight years. But I’m not so sure about that anymore.
Thanks to the 50% plus of the American people who are Marxist in our schools in the entertainment industry, and of course in the Media, along with the ACLU etc, etc) we have the makings of the third world banana republic. I have always thought that the good American people would always ride up and do the right thing and this could never happen here. . I was wrong, Today everything in this country, its all about abortion, gay marriage, entitlements, and mostly about race. We have a president who is more interested in his Socialist agenda that his country. Socialized health care is here. The president’s socialist agenda is taking over America. And worse of all, Barack Obama, a committed socialist ideologue, is in the Oval Office
I am still so upset and shaken by the absolute stupidity of the American citizenry and all I can say is they got the government they deserve. The big problem with this is my freedom, my rights has be violated, along and I have no say in the matter

  7. The biggest nincompoopery is this bizarre fixation the fringe right has with Benghazi.

The death throes of the Baggers. This is what they're down to and you should be very grateful you have a right of center president who isn't going to press for any progressive change of substance.

But the real story these days is the fringe right not being able to admit their day is past and gone. It's all being thrown on the same heap as the birther nonsense. Good riddance.

Benghazi? Man, talk about being down to seeds and stems.

Let's start with the facts that the historic record has found the Exodus and the fall of Jericho to be completely false.

The Old Testament doesn't hold up to close scrutiny and serves mainly to inflate the reputation of a small Canaanite splinter group.

Oh, really? Four dead Americans, one of them an ambassador in the service of the U.S. State Department, SHOULD matter.

But the real story these days is the fringe right not being able to admit their day is past and gone.

You may be right about that. Political movements and political parties DO die. Time will tell.

As for the Bible, well, belief therein is a matter of faith. Believe what you will.

The Constitution has been in the process of being shredded for a long time now -- even before the present administration took power.

  10. Anita,
Obama has decided that Vice President Biden, and all the members of Congress, and most federal workers should get raises for the hard work they did in 2012.

Via the executive order that BHO signed yesterday.

We have become a Nanny State, and BHO sees part of his role as that of a sugar daddy. Who's going to pay for all the sugar? Hmmm? Yep, we the taxpayers.

You can't make this stuff up!

  11. Conservatives On Fire,
I wonder if they'll bother following the Constitutional requirements for new amendments. Why should they follow any such requirements? After all, they have decided that the Constitution is "inherently flawed".

No matter what, the GOP will get the blame. It's a lose-lose situation for the GOP -- at least for the next two years.

  15. AOW, how many people have died in embassy attacks under recent past presidents.
It happens and will likely continue to happen. However, the casualties under Obama have been lower than under Bush(40+) or Clinton.

This is simply the right exercising its neurotic fixation with Obama, a right of center president. The right is acting like a bunch of trained seals.

  16. Duck,
You are correct that there have been many attacks on U.S. embassies. You know where those attacks have occurred as well as I do.

However, only a few United States ambassadors have been killed while in office. The list shows eight ambassadors who died while serving: 2 killed in plane crashes and 6 killed in attacks.

If I have my dates correct, none died during either of the Bush administrations or during the Clinton administration. Please correct me if I have made an error with regard to the dates.

  18. Obama lost patience with Boehner? That's rich. How much time did he actually spend with Boehner? In person? On the phone?

I'm not sure we can survive the next 4 years, with Obama doing what he does and with the Republicans surrendering.

  19. I always thought that prostitution was illegal in most of the U.S. of A. until the grand master pimp daddy of all times rewon the White House. Almost over night(4 years)he had over 50% of the country whoring(voting for their freebies) for him and his libtard friends.

Is anyone offended at the term "prostitution" as used above? Tough shit! That is exactly what it is when one sells his soul to the devil!

Between the gimme gimme gimme sloths that think they are "entitled" to as much free cheese as they can manipulate from a terribly broken system and the greedy bastards that think a billion dollars isn't enough, I'm surprised that we have hung on as long as we have.

America is like an overloaded truck heading down a huge steep mountain with no brakes. Only disaster lies in it's future. If the driver gets out alive, he can brush himself off and start over. If America survives, maybe we can do the same. Only time will tell. It can go either way.

  20. Average American,
The sad reality is that gimme gimme gimme sloths multiply exponentially.

I'm not sure that there exists a road back from "America" to America.
