If Obama Debated Romney

Video below the fold:

(Hat tip to to 1389 Blog)

Yes, the above video is satiric. Still, Romney does provide Obama with plenty of ammunition for a Presidential debate. Romney is notorious for flip flops and contradictory statements.

  1. Taking all sides of an issue is considered high art in DC...

  2. If Romney wins the nomination, there is a better than average chance Obama wins reelection. The media absolutely wants Romney because they know there is no way they are going to sugar coat the beat down Newt is going to give Obama in a debate on national tv.,...

  3. SIlverFiddle,

Being able to take all sides of an issue -- convincingly -- is considered a requisite for graduation from law school. Need I say more?

    AOW,

I didn't read the link, but assume Obummer will get away with this, because he is 1. black, 2. a Democrat.

If he were a sitting Republican president, he'd be dragged from the White House in chains, made to do a "perp walk" in front of the TV cameras, and set before a TRIBUNAL presided over by a "Special Prosecutor" handpicked by Democrat Operatives, determined to destroy him no matter what evidence surfaces during the Show Trial.

    Blogginator,

I couldn't agree more. Romney is a handsome, dignified, super-rich, squeaky clean, personally ambitious cypher with an irritatingly ingratiating manner. He's been chosen by the Establishment (i.e. The Enemy) to maintain the status quo at all costs.

I have always liked Newt Gingrich. He has what-we-used-to-call MOXY. We don't need a virtuous wimp in the White House House. What we do need is a shrewd, sharp-witted, determined SOB with the courage of his convictions and enough ruthlessness to discredit, defeat, humiliate and if-possible annihilate the Enemies of Freedom.

The attempts to portray Gingrich as a "neocon" are ludicrous. He's a REAGANITE, and Mr. Reagan was certainly no NEOCON. That aside, Gingrich is enough of a realist to know that we must play ball with all sorts of odious elements in order to regain and maintain our ascendancy. He's a PRAGMATIST. There is no room in government for purists, idealists and ideologues.

Does Mr. Gingrich have a large ego?

OF COURSE! I defy you to name one successful Politician, Captain of Industry, or Success in Show Business or the Creative Arts who doesn't.

I am fervently praying that New Gingrich becomes "our" candidate, because he's the only person available right now who might possibly save us from going over the falls.

  4. At the least, I think the primary is starting to get interesting.

  5. The more I see, believe it or not, the less I'm interested in who wins because our crop was so horrible that it says a lot about...something I don't want to think about :-)

As for Romney; he wanted to be elected and he ran in a liberal state...I'd have flip flopped, too. And it never ever bothers me when someone changes their opinion on things...as long as he changes them to MY opinion (smile!)

Newt will slaughter Obama in a debate, but we have to remember Obama's got a LOT of ammunition with Newt's past as Speaker some of which is valid.

  6. Romney is milquetoast. I don't see him stoking "fire in the belly" of anyone, not even his base.

Obama on the other hand is a good campaigner. He can fire up his base with just empty rhetoric.

Given where most people in this country are as far as their political perceptions (ie. not paying attention), the edge goes to Obama.

  7. So spot-on, and they nailed Obama's voice and facial/head movements.

You have pointed out a very important problem with Romney -- a problem that goes beyond ideology.

Today, Reliapundit has posted THIS, which lists all sorts of problems with Gingrich as the GOP candidate for 2012.

No matter how we look at it, realistically I think that we have to say that the GOP candidate isn't going to be a shoo-in in the 2012 election. On the other hand, if Obama is forced to run on his actual record, BHO isn't going to be a shoo-in either.

Gingrich is a mixed bag, though. See the link that I left in a comment immediately above. Can Gingrich finesse all that? We may well find out.

  11. I agree with Gator: Romney should've taken the gloves off long ago.

However, I have a real problem with Newt. If a man can't be trusted to keep his oath to his wife, how can we the people trust him to keep his oath to us?

  12. Well, Brooke, in that case there, are only two things you can do if Newt Gingrich gets the nomination:

    1) Stay home on election day

    2) Vote for Obama -- the faithful husband of Michele ma Belle and father of Malia and Sasha.

Obama's your obvious choice if marital fidelity is the primary issue that defines the value of a candidate for you.

  13. AOW,

Newt has been under heavy attack from all sides ever since he rose to prominence.

    Why?

Because he's been highly effective in holding back the rising tide of Welfare Statism.

They had it in for Nixon the same way, because he had been an EFFECTIVE anti-Communist.

"They" are The Establishment, of course. "The Establishment," which is comprised of Republicans and Democrats alike, is an amalgam of International Bankers, Captains of Industry, Owners and Suppliers of Raw Materials and the moguls who own and operate the News-Information-Entertainment bloc.

Party politics are no longer the issue. This is a fight to maintain our sovereignty and our identity as a people in the face of "elites" who think it best to establish One World Government.

Just wait till the Hottentots, the Bedouins and the Mongol Hordes are granted power equal to our own!

The descent into primitive savagery will be rapid and likely to last for hundreds-if-not-thousands of years.

So glad I'll be 71 in a few more weeks. "Soon I will be done a with the troubles of the world!" HALLELUJAH!

  14. Yes Newt has a less than perfect past but who among us has had a perfect past?

I find it funny that Democrats will forgive the actions of a serial killer but what to srucify a man because he made mistakes in his relationships in the past....tolerance apparently is a one way street.

Yes Obama will try to bring up Newt's past but you guys are failing to see something. If Obummer goes to the past then Newt can go to the past...

Think about it for the first timem the nation will actually hear about the mixed bag of criminals and shady characters surrounding Obama. No media to stop it from coming out and an electorate that is actually paying attention....

    Exactly!

I just hope that Americans realize what's at stake.

I will not stay home on Election Day!

I can so relate to your statement about being glad to be a bit up in years. It is very difficult to watch the coming train wreck.

Today I hear on the morning news that Obama is glad that Newt Gingrich is doing so well in the GOP primaries. Does Obama have a clue as to how dangerous Newt is in a debate?

    Nope.

Obama believes his own Messiah propaganda.

  17. AOW, thanks for that link, we all know that and it's good to see it in black/white.

The thing is, Newt's the one who's been more 'left' (thePelosi ad, etc.) RECENTLY than Romney has yet Newt's getting accolades from Tea Partiers.

I think Newt's popularity today hinges 75% on the way he's slapped down Juan Williams, John King, etc...that he's had the guts to tell the truth to the leftwing media in public.
If Romney would try some of that, he'd soar....but I don't think he can do it without looking scared witless that he's going to tick someone off.

sad situation. Still, no matter what Gingrich has done (and Jay Carney is quoted today talking about gingrich's 'bombasts' while Carney was a journalist on the Hill) (http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/01/asked-about-gingrich-former-congressional-reporter-now-white-house-spokesman-jay-carney-recalls-covering-bombast-on-the-hill/) so the fight's started, he will be able to ANNIHILATE Obama in ANY debate.

That, I will be EXTREMELY happy to see. And I think a lot of Democrats could be swayed to Newt that way. I really do.

    Agreed.

People are tired of all sorts of pussyfooting around and all the pc, the latter having become a form of censorship.

I'm not sure that Newt can win; he clearly is vulnerable about certain matters, not only that of his serial adultery. He is no spring chicken and needs to lose a lot of pounds.

However, I do know that Gingrich can defeat Obama in a debate.

Romney looks the part of a President. But there's just something about him that gives off the aura of weak leadership.

Have you seen THIS VIDEO? Obama is actually campaigning against the Constitution! He's going to be "The One" who gets all our problems solved because he's done so much to solve our problems already. A real man of action! You're got to see the video! no doubt, we'll be seeing it on our television screens.

    2. It's NEWT or NAUGHT!

    3. NEWT is CUTE - BARRY is SCARY!

  20. To be perfectly honest, Newt also flip flopped, some of which is expected considering that he was in the public eye for many decades. Newt would handle the charge better, however.

  22. One thing Romney has on his side, he can tell people, i'm not obama.

That is enough for me, i'd like the choice to be between a good candidate and a dreadful one, but that's not the case, the choice will be between a so-so candidate and an absolutely dreadful one.

Here's to hoping America give the the boot to obama.
