The Islamification Of France

With a hat tip to Mark Alexander, the following video was posted at YouTube in 2010:

Some reading on the topic of Islam in France:
Islamic mosques are being built more often in France than Roman Catholic churches, and there now are more practising Muslims in the country than practising Catholics.

Nearly 150 new mosques currently are under construction in France, home to the biggest Muslim community in Europe....

The total number of mosques in France has already doubled to more than 2,000 during just the past ten years...
A combination of multiculturalism and demographics will inevitably take down the West.

  1. The French and Brits have given us fair warning of what is coming if we keep sitting on our hands.

  2. Intimidation by prayer, huh? Nice. Maybe it's just me, but I have the worst urge to run up and kick their protruding butts.

I thought France was waking up?

  3. France can pass all the burka bans they want, but you can't trump demographics, and that is what will end up killing them.

  4. This is a symptom of a much greater problem, the decline of Christianity in Europe. Islam would not be a threat if Christians were still reproducing and practicing their faith. The solution is not to fight Islam, the solution is to correct yourself.

  5. Catholicism was dying in Europe even before Benedict went for the big coverup on the abuse scandal.

Christianity is on the wane in America also and you'll have to move in pretty mysterious ways to pin that on Islam.

  6. I thought France was fighting back against this.

    Ducky,

Christianity is on the wane in America also and you'll have to move in pretty mysterious ways to pin that on Islam.

That is an absolutely absurd comment and once again makes it clear you are just interested in pushing your far-left agenda instead of actually participating in an intelligent conversation.

  7. @Ducky

Pope Benedict did not cover up the priest abuse scandal. He's done more to fight dissidents than Pope JPII. There is no evidence to your false claims. 99% of the priests who are responsible for the abuse scandal are liberals (most are homosexuals).

The multiculturalism in France will lead to it's ruination if it doesn't shape up. Hopefully the U.S. will heed France's warning signals.

Well! This is indeed a weird week (earthquake followed by hurricane here on the East Coast). I agree with that statement!

I could cite numerous reasons as to why the decline in Christianity. Foremost, IMO, is this fact: so many churches have become wishy washy doctrinally and morally -- in the name of "coolness."

Another point: I have never claimed that Islam is responsible for the wane of Christianity.

Now, I will say that the overt piety of Muslims of puts Christianity to shame. How many Christians will openly ask the blessing publicly at their table in a restaurant? Muslims, however, stop what they're doing wherever they are en masse and bow toward Mecca. Even in shopping malls! Ever seen those piles of shoes outside the prayer rooms in shopping malls in Saudi Arabia?

Now, I myself as a Christian (Protestant) am wary of sheeplike ritual. That said, Muslims' open expressions of faith have caused many, Christians and others, to ask themselves, "What do Muslims have that I don't have in my own convictions?" And, of course, we've all heard that many raised as non-Muslims have converted to Islam -- some because they have been impressed by the piety of Muslims AND by the strict code of shari'a. Turning to Islam has filled a vacuum in many converts' lives -- there's no getting around that aspect, IMO.

  9. Silverfiddle,
No way to deny those demographics -- particularly the birth rate.

It used to be that Roman Catholics produced large families. But most of the Roman Catholics whom I personally know use birth control and stop reproducing after 2 or 3 offspring.

Yes, there are Protestant Christians who have large families; but they are in the minority among Christians as far as I can tell.

I know what you mean. As I said in a previous comment, I'm not big on blind ritual: it seems cultlike to me.

  11. Randy,
For whatever reason, most Americans are woefully ignorant as to what's transpiring across The Pond.

  12. Just an observation....

When I was growing up, I used to see a lot of Roman Catholic nuns wearing habits -- even in the shopping districts in DC, Maryland, and Virginia as well as in doctors' offices (Most of my doctors were Roman Catholic back then). I don't see nuns in habits much these days -- except in isolated areas. Why?

    True.

When I was in college (1968-1972), professors, particularly biology professors, openly advocated zero population growth or negative population growth. I'm sure that many students bought into those ideas. In addition, the financial realities of rearing more than two children have stuck hard.

  14. What's the point of having a law against blocking the street and sidewalks to pray, if the French authorities are afraid to enforce it?

  16. Beamish!

Haven't seen you for a while.

France imported all those Algerians (Cheap labor!) and, thereby, planted the seeds of the destruction of France. Now, at this late date, some in France realize what's happening, but they don't have a clue as to how to solve the problem.

  17. Felix,
Point well taken. Any law is useless without enforcement.
