What makes you think the history of film is worth preserving?
The films, THEMSELVES, speak very well on their own.
I don't give a tinker's dam who slept with whom, or what vicious games of oneupsmnshit the moguls played with each other, how many whorelets they defiled, how many matinee idols were bisexual, or screaming drag queens off camera,how many abortions they ordered, or how many drunks, drug addicts, streetwalkers, homeless bums, and hopeless neurotics they created.
They sought it with thimbles, they sought it with care; They pursued it with forks and hope; They threatened its life with a railway-share; They charmed it with smiles and soap.
The hunters never need to hunt again. The Snark resides within these lofty pages. His name's Canardo who doth darkly stain Whatever place he snidely with engages!
I took great delight years ago in discovering Sinister = Left in Latin. In Italian, Sinistra. Yes, "left" is feminine and "sinister" takes the masculine, but its all from the same root and still funny.
