Wow! What to say to THIS from the NYT, dated April 23, 2012? Excerpt (emphases mine):
One Saturday last fall, President Obama interrupted a White House strategy meeting to raise an issue not on the agenda. He declared, aides recalled, that the administration needed to more aggressively use executive power to govern in the face of Congressional obstructionism.
[...]
[I]ncreasingly in recent months, the administration has been seeking ways to act without Congress. Branding its unilateral efforts “We Can’t Wait,” a slogan that aides said Mr. Obama coined at that strategy meeting, the White House has rolled out dozens of new policies — on creating jobs for veterans, preventing drug shortages, raising fuel economy standards, curbing domestic violence and more.
Each time, Mr. Obama has emphasized the fact that he is bypassing lawmakers. When he announced a cut in refinancing fees for federally insured mortgages last month, for example, he said: “If Congress refuses to act, I’ve said that I’ll continue to do everything in my power to act without them.”
Aides say many more such moves are coming. Not just a short-term shift in governing style and a re-election strategy...

In effect, Obama is declaring, "I am the government."
Goodbye to the principles of federalism!
Until the day that he leaves office, expect Obama to wield the might of executive power like no previous President.
Obama isn’t the first to attempt to rule Americans; Andy Jackson displayed utter disregard for the Constitution —but we have to understand that Jackson was a Democrat, so no surprise there. Thanks to the efforts of William Jennings Bryan and Woodrow Wilson (both Democrats) federalism suffered a serious blow when the 17th Amendment became law, stripping the states of their right of representation in the federal government. To be fair, 31 state legislatures (no doubt Democrats) helped in this process; they behaved dishonorably then, and they are suffering the consequences now.
Today the federal government regularly bullies the states, if not in matters relating to highway safety and education, then on matters of illegal immigration, voter registration, and voter identification. Rather than acting as a partner with the states, the federal government demands obedience. This too is no surprise, for even though a client may hire a prostitute, no one respects her afterwards. Having accepted federal money, like a whore, states must now perform for the federal bureaucracy. This is precisely why the Supreme Court must overturn Obama-Care because if the federal government can dictate health insurance, they can dictate anything.
This is an extremely powerful video. Will be posting on at least one of my blogs. Yes, Obama and his minions definitely want to remake America into some type of socialist utopia where everyone has equal misery and no chance for wealth or success.
I've been looking over my blogroll and somehow your blog wasn't on it. Sorry about that. Thought that it was. Well, I fixed that mistake and now it is on my blogroll.
"In America, we hurry--which is well; but when the day's work is done, we go on thinking of losses and gains, we plan for the morrow, we even carry our business cares to bed with us...we burn up our energies with these excitements, and either die early or drop into a lean and mean old age at a time of life which they call a man's prime in Europe...What a robust people, what a nation of thinkers we might be, if we would only lay ourselves on the shelf occasionally and renew our edges!"
More lies and fear mongering by the looney right by a site which is a front for big industry, oil companies and polluters. This country pays by far the lowest price per gallon of gas.
If I wanted America to fail, I’d inseminate our women with radiated sperm so that all of America’s babies would become intellectual morons like Liberalmann.
Duck, That is an interesting quotation from Mark Twain.
Mark Twain was an excellent writer, but a good financial manager he was not. He made many unwise investments and turned over the management of his financial affairs to someone else. He was also a dreamer.
In under five minutes this video unmasks the entire Obama scam.
Whether you believe that Obama is following the Saul Alinsky (one of his favorite author's) plan to remake America or not it's clear that this is what is happening.
What really stood out for me was the line that we are making cheap energy expensive so expensive energy would seem cheap. That's the only way they will ever get green energy to become a reality and we are already paying for it with higher electricity and gas prices.
P.S. Mark: The liberals would be cheering this on!
Mitt's speech last night was a really good one, he has to keep that spirit up. speech last night . The more I see of Mitt Romney , the more I like him. If he keeps hitting Obama with the enthusiasm that he showed last night, I think he's going to do alright.I know that I will give him ny full support in November.
We know that Obama is going to do whatever it takes including getting the price of gas down and I think he will also announce an earlier withdrawal from Afghanistan. He's going to do whatever it takes to win. Including everything under the table.

I didn't believe it four years ago, but I do believe it now. Obama and the Pelosicrats really do want to remake America.
ReplyDeleteThe scary thing is, we are spilling over with soft-heads who cheer it on. I don't know what they think the end product will be...
SF: "I don't know what they think the end product will be..."
ReplyDeleteSure you do. An authoritarian socialist state where the soi disant enlightened elites run the rest of our lives as they see fit.
Despotism is despotism, enlightened or otherwise.
This does indeed look familiar.
ReplyDeleteMike (from Mike's America) Posted this on Facebook and I shared it. I can only hope some Liberal's saw it and actually listened with an open mind.

ReplyDeleteThis video has gone viral and rightly so. I hope it opens at least a few eyes.

Damn, visited FreeMarketAmerica.org and NoScript is humming with hijack warnings.
ReplyDeleteBe careful folks.
You're beginning to sound more and more like an Articles of Confederation man, Sam.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I'm more Albany Plan. ;)
Okay, I lied. More "Iroquois Confederacy"...
