Furthermore, over and over again, Dr. Fauci and other scientists tout the benefits of the vaccines. Yet (hat tip to Deplorable Bloggers Alliance):
Can we trust scientists to determine what is best for us to have inserted into our own bodies?

ReplyDeleteAll the concerns shared no likely are true. However, for those over 70 and/or have underlying health issues the chances of not dying are vastly improved.
Our retirement community had 28 deaths. Last April 96 percent of the community received both jabs. There were no further deaths and the few cases have been mild.
At my age, the risk reward was easy to figure. So far it looks like I didn't grab the short straw.

Bunkerville,
DeleteSo far it looks like I didn't grab the short straw.
I, on the other hand, have terrible luck AND a history of reacting badly to live vaccines.
MRNA vaccines are not exactly live, but neither are they dead. Hence, my family doctor advised the J&J shot. Even so, I had some significant reactions even as late as three weeks after the jab.
No easy decision AOW.. First my Doc suggested J&J as well.. If I were under 70 and/or no health risks I would not take it in a nanosecond. Having been cooped up for over a year in our apartments, life has returned again to normal activities and I must give some credit to the whatever it is.
DeleteI just wanted to temper the justified anger against all concerned for their lies and deceit.
Bunkerville,
DeleteWell, I am barely under age 70 and have a few health risks -- fortunately, not obesity (If anything, I am underweight).
My biggest concern for myself is my chronic kidney disease, which can result in a compromised immune system.
Then, again, I have a history of reacting to live vaccines. I don't mean just a sore arm! The two reactions I've had in my life resulted in hospitalization and, the second time, resulted in surgery.
My exposure to any virus now is minimal. I'm no longer in the classroom (Long live Zoom! A platform that works well for me), and, furthermore, am perfectly content to be the housefrau type now that I'm almost retired.
Doctator Fauci has never been straight with us. He is too damn arrogant to admit that sometimes they just don't know.
ReplyDeleteSF,
DeleteHe seems to be on a power trip. I didn't always think so, but I do now.
Just FYI, any article about immunity which is discussing antibodies should be disregarded. Antibodies are only one of several measures that the immune system uses to fight a virus, and they are only present while the fight is ongoing.
ReplyDeleteImmunity is about one's immune system having learned how to fight the specific virus and how to immediately create the tools needed to do so, antibodies being one of those tools.
A vaccine is a means of teaching one's immune system, absent the subject having been exposed to the actual virus. As to getting the vaccine after having been ill with the virus, why? What is the vaccine going to teach the immune system that it did not learn from the live virus?
Jayhawk,
DeleteAs to getting the vaccine after having been ill with the virus, why? What is the vaccine going to teach the immune system that it did not learn from the live virus?
Exactly!
But Big Pharma wants its profits.
If Governor Gavin Newsom has facial droop (Bell's Palsy or a stroke) we will not see him for a long, long time. It will destroy the safety narrative.
ReplyDeleteMy bottom line? I oppose medical coercion and support freedom to choose and act in one's own best interest. Who, exactly, has the right to tell me what is right for me?
Tammy,
DeleteInteresting point about Gavin Newsom.
And where is Jen Psaki these days? She had a breakthrough case of COVID. It seems to me that she's been out of the public eye for more than 10 days.
Who, exactly, has the right to tell me what is right for me?
The government has done so in the past with a mandated smallpox vaccine, and the SCOTUS ruled that an STATE can require a vaccine. See Jacobson v. Massachusetts. Note this excerpt from the above link:
Harlan's decision supported both police power and limits on the power, and his decision would be invoked to support both in later cases. He stated his nuanced opinion on the limits of government power by saying that "general terms should be so limited in their application as not to lead to injustice, oppression or absurd consequence".
But OSHA? Does OSHA really have the constitutional power to mandate any vaccine?
Congress gave OSHA the power to issue what’s known as an “emergency temporary standard” when employees encounter a “grave danger”.
DeleteI’m thinking there’s about a dozen pro-COVID states suing so I guess we’ll see what qualifies as an emergency or a grave danger.
https://www.osha.gov/laws-regs/oshact/completeoshact
As for Psaki... I got a breakthrough case of Covid in late July, early August. I had a fever for 18 days and had little energy for an additional 2 weeks after that.
DeleteIf she's sick, 10 days may not always be enough to get as clean bill of health and the energy needed to do a stressful job like press secretary.
Ronald, define grave danger. A case fatality rate of less than 1%? No, this tyrannical whimsy has got to be stopped. Stop masking kids, stop forcing children to be vaccinated, knock off the mask kabuki, and move on. If people feel they are threatened by covid, we are adults and we can all decide how to proceed. Me wearing a mask is not killing grandma. And Rachel willinsky is full of s*** when she says wearing a mask cuts down transmission by 80%. The scientific data does not support her statement
DeleteSF, I wasn’t defending OSHA’s “grave danger” reasoning, just stating how they justified their mandate. As mentioned, I’m sure the courts will make that determination.
DeleteWe’ve kicked this mask argument around several times so I guess we both know where each other stands.
I just have a hard time believing that Fauci and world wide medical professionals spent their entire careers for an opportunity to lie to us. That just doesn’t add up. It’s right up their with Jewish laser beams from outer space or dead presidents helping Biden steal the election or that Anderson Cooper eats dead babies for breakfast.
But oddly enough, such tales seem to always have a trail leading back to the same sources.
Ronald, knock off the conspiracy BS. Nobody here traffic's in that crap, so go pedal it somewhere else.
DeleteThere are respected doctors and scientists who disagree with fauchy and the other pompous government poobahs.
If you go and do some reading, or listen to some good podcasts, you'll find out that half of public health is propaganda and herding people, and that does have its place depending on circumstances. Yes, over 600,000 people have died in the US, but if you compare this to other pandemics, the level of hysteria and the level of dictatorial government mandates are not justified
There may very well be respected doctors and scientists to support your argument on masks and vaxs but they just don’t compare with the percentage of respected doctors and lawyers who don’t. And then of course, we’d have to come to terms with who qualifies as respected as I have absolutely no respect for Rand Paul as a doctor or as an honorable person.
DeleteI can assure you my news intake consist of a wide assortment although I don’t put much into what I consider the batshit crazy coo-coo for coco puffs conspiracy theorist.
The problem is that the political moderation ship set sail long ago. You yourself have accused me of, or insinuated of me, or alluded to that I’m indoctrinated, have no mind of my own, controlled by some left wing masters. Now on the other hand, you seem convinced that Fauci is lying and has some other agenda, followed Tuckers notion that masking children is child abuse, claim that Obama caged children, been rather friendly towards the insurrection mob (when they weren’t Antifa or FBI plants), somewhat defensive of the gross gerrymandering and anti-democratic agenda of the right, and not once have I heard you say that Biden won fair and square (and again, maybe not verbatim but insinuating, seem to support, allude to, etc.)
Now I’ll concede my bias political slant, as you have too. I’ll concede my dismissal of right wing media that I’ve previously mentioned. I’ll concede I’m a lifelong union supporting Democrat and I’m sure I’ll die as one as well. And I’ll also admit that I believe (not to be misconstrued as accusing) that Trump has ushered in an era of disinformation and that most of his followers, or, leftist haters, not only don’t know what is true and real but they just don’t care.
And I get it that you disagree and even see the same in the Democratic Party (as again, their really is no such thing as a Democrat party just as Joe Biden has not been diagnosed with dementia).
There’s always been division. Whatever happened to deductive reasoning and accepting facts for what they are. I guess in my day, the cards on the table spoke for themselves. You just didn’t get to say that some respected poker player said your strait beat my flush.
Thank you for mentioning facts. So far, the scientific data and evidence is mixed at best on masks.
DeleteYou say masks work? To what level of effectiveness? 10%? 80%? What is your basis for saying that? How many studies did you accept? How many studies did you ignore?
You say masks work? It is on YOU to prove it, not on me to disprove an unsubstantiated claim.
https://www.acsh.org/news/2021/08/24/fact-checking-fact-checkers-what-do-studies-say-about-masks-and-covid-19-15754
Obama caged children in the same way Trump caged children, and they both did it in cages build by Obama. For the record, I agree with Jeh Johnson's remarks on the kerfuffle.
Misinformation? Are you watching the Russia Collusion fabrication unravel? No one has any credibility talking about misinformation if they still cling to the Hillary Clinton DNC manufactured golden shower hooker fairy tale.
Do you stand by an FBI that was either a willing conspirator or an easily duped boob?
Joe Biden is president. He won. I say that they way some states conducted their elections left the door open to election fraud, but Team Kraken failed to make the case, so case closed and I really wish Trump and his die-hard followers would move on.
My problem with Doctator Fauci is his arrogant, imperious pronouncements as if he is the embodiment of science itself. He is not. He blew it on AIDS and he's been all over the place these last two years. Wallensky is a disgrace.
The vaccines do not prevent the spread of covid but they lessen the effects, so its time to stop the hysterical mobs from verbally attacking the unvaxxed. This is a disease that hits the old and the infirm. Time to unmask those of working age, and for the love of all that is good, leave the children alone. They are the least vulnerable. Giving them vaccinations is medical experimentation and child abuse.
Doctator Fauci and Rachel Wailensky have given us no scientific basis for masking children, closing schools and vaccinating them.
I concede that if this were anthrax or smallpox where 30% of the exposed die, some propagandizing and herding people into prescribed behaviors could be justified, but knowing human nature, people wouldn't need diktats and cajoling because they would see the threat and protect themselves from it.
Both parties gerrymander, and if the Democrat Party could produce an actual person denied their right to vote by Repubelicons, that would help their so far unsubstantiated claims of voter suppression.
Joe Biden is in decline. The Democrat party perpetrated a fraud in running him as a steady hand centrist and I hope the American people punish them for it.
I say "Democrat Party" on purpose to wind up the hyper-sensitive. Thanks for the pay off.
SF,
DeleteThank you for that thorough comment. I'll address only one portion right now:
leave the children alone. They are the least vulnerable. Giving them vaccinations is medical experimentation and child abuse
Children's metabolisms are significantly different from those of adults. IMO, vaccinating children with an EXPERIMENTAL VACCINE is hideous. Beyond hideous!
Did you see this little gem: Pfizer CEO says people who spread misinformation on Covid vaccines are ‘criminals’? What is the CEO's definition of "misinformation"?
For starters, I’ve never said masks worked. I do believe, as most credible medical professionals, that they slow the spread, particularly in crowded unventilated areas. That’s just common sense.
DeleteI also believe the GOP think tanks find it advantageous to instill anger and mistrust in order to keep the furor going, not only with CIVID but with race and their never ending prodding of cultural wars.
And I also believe that much of the propaganda outlets abet them in that effort and the polarization has created an either “us” or “them” so the basket of gullibles believe the horseshit they’re being fed.
No, it wasn’t that Team Kranken blew an opportunity to exposed open doors from left states. Trump lost because more people voted for Biden. Biden won in accordance with our lawful constitutional process and every single state’s election result was certified to be accurate. Recounts were done and even paper trails proved it. Some 80 lawsuits were rejected by even Trump hand picked judges. All 9 SCOTUS rejected it. Why? Because lawyers can stand in front of a camera and spew lies and horse shit to the gullibles but they can’t do it in a courtroom as they’d be disbarred and/or charged with a crime.
No, Trump caging children does not compare with Obama. It just doesn’t. As far as reading into news and events, you should really dig into the GA voting law and who and how they can count the ballots, or accept or reject the outcome. There actually was an insurrection on Jan 6 from angry Trump supporters who were duped by Trump and his propaganda machine. And just like Trump bribing a foreign government with congressional approved funding to help his re-election, it’s what we saw with our own eyes.
If winding up my sensitivity is therapeutic for you, then my all means have at it my friend. It’s common to see “demonrats, odumbo, Grandpa Biden, etc”. I’ve always felt that if ones argument stood to scrutiny, they wouldn’t need to rely on such distractions. Kinda like I can’t talk about disinformation because of something about pee tapes.
But that’s just me
I hope that the newly energized 'my body, my choice' camp.....where it concerns injecting or imbibing foreign substances, will join forces with the drug legalization movement.
ReplyDeleteThe State mandating or prohibiting such activity, should result in a combined effort of liberty-minded Citizens.
There was a segment on NBC News the other night about the "huge problem of fentanyl" which, of course, mostly comes from China. The unstated message being that China is trying to destroy us by poisoning us with drugs. Sigh.
DeleteAnyway. The question popped into my head about how much good did we do by sending Perdue Pharma to prison? Now that we stamped out the Oxy that replaced heroin, we have to stamp out the fentanyl that replaced Oxy. Do we ever learn?
When did the drug problem ever get smaller? How do we make it smaller. Well, ask yourself when the alcohol problem got smaller. It got smaller when we legalized alcohol. When did the marijuana problem get smaller? When we legalized marijuana.
Neither of those problems went away. But they got smaller. People who got into trouble could ask for help without having an issue with the law.
It was an utter anathema to the principles of Liberty that our republic was founded upon, to criminalize a Citizen for imbibing any substance. Prohibitions of this, past an present....are a stain on our history.
DeleteChina learn from the opium wars. They don't forget. A little payback, even if it was the Brits not us that did it
DeleteI agree on personal responsibility. I believe our government should still be underdicting drugs at the border and punishing traffickers, much harshly by the way then we do now. Having said that, we need to decriminalize all drug usage
Using alcohol as a model [albeit an imperfect one], one may solve the other.
DeleteDoctator Fauci still hasn't provided medical evidence supporting forced vaccination of children.
ReplyDeleteSF,
DeleteI oppose giving the COVID vaccine to children. We don't have longitudinal studies!
:)
DeleteTammy mentioned Gavin Newsom above. Here is link for those interested:
ReplyDeleteGov “Lockdown” Newsom Hasn’t Been Seen In Public Since He Got A COVID Booster Jab...Where Is Our Dishonest Media?.
Family obligations? Maybe, maybe not.
Anyway, he hasn't been seen in public since October 27, when he got his booster jab.
Correction: Newsom has popped up at a wedding officiated by Pelosi.
DeletePelosi officiating a wedding?
DeleteWas it at the Church of Satan?
Congress is still INVESTIGATING Jan 6th. Issuing subpoenas to CAMPAIGN OFFICIALS of the Trump campaign. Eleven months after an event at which the only fatality was caused by a police officer. This is the definition of tyranny.
ReplyDeleteSome would say that using one's elected office to foment the obstruction and overturning of a national election, in the face of no substantiated evidence, is an actual definition of tyranny.
ReplyDeletelol!
DeleteHow about <a href='https://youtu.be/sXulHYwUOzw">the people who actually initiated the attack</a> on the capitol?
DeleteHow about the people who actually initiated the attack on the capitol?
DeleteHow about the people who actually initiated the attack on the capitol?
DeleteTrump supporters? What about them?
Led by FBI agents.... who somehow avoided being charged.
DeleteUh huh.....
