    1. I think they call it humor set to music. Of course, projects such as this one fall by the wayside when people lack a sense of humor. Studies show a high correlation between humor and intelligence. I’m very sorry about that, Ducky. Really.

  2. That's an oldie but goodie. A certain kind of comedy I've always enjoyed. I've known a few church members like Bertha Better-than-you, ha.

  3. LOL

Reminds me of the revival meetings my paternal grandmother used to drag me to. All those hell-fire and brimstone preachers warning against the dangers of sin, and almost everyone in the audience was in their 60s … I kept wondering, “Who is that guy preaching to?”

  4. I spent a lot of time growing up Ocean Springs, down the road from Pascagoula, Mississippi. Since the Mississippi coast has a French heritage and Pascagoula is a seaport, I thought it an odd choice for Steven's funny spoof. Here is the reason he chose it.

"Pascagoula also gained national attention in the 1980s, when novelty singer/songwriter Ray Stevens featured the town in his hit, "Mississippi Squirrel Revival." Stevens admits, though, that the song could have been set in any Southern town but the name Pascagoula easily rhymed with the word, hallelujah, which is heard frequently in the song."
