  4. This astonishing jazz version by Nina Simone of "Black Swan" from Mennotti's opera The Medium would make a wonderful alternative to the Tchaikovsky as a background for the Swan video:

    I'd almost forgotten how dark and menacing this orchestral episode from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake could sound.

    There is something haunting and grim about the surface of that water -- especially the area choked with reeds.

    I often wonder if the wild creatures have any idea of the danger -- or the wonder -- in which they live?

  8. I dated a guy years ago who I LOVED....(at the time)...the Canon in D started our relationship (long story)...kind of made me sad listening; the bird helped perk me up!
    I used to have flocks of parrots outside my kitchen window in an old apartment I lived in...I love parrots!
