I strongly suggest a career change for Obozo-- although can't sing any better than he can govern a free nation, he at least wouldn't be doing so much damage.
I have to admit I love blues so much I actually liked the video...god, am I softening? No, I just like Blues THAT MUCH. I have to say I'm jealous; to sing with that band would be heaven. There certainly are percs to being president. Who'd listen to HIM otherwise? :-)
Face it, he DOES have a nice baritone. A better sound than most "pop" stars, frankly.
AND he has "presence" in front of an audience.
YAGOTTA give the devil his due.
He's HARD to hate.
We run Romney, and Obama's a shoo in. In fact I may vote for the president, because I RESENT the way the Establishment is SHOVING MITT DOWN OUR THROATS and UP OUR PATOOTS.
There's something about Mitt that tells me he'll be JUST like Obama, except for being white, so I think we ought to stick with Obama.
Yeah, I'm a little surprised, myself, but "our" side has put on such a DISGUSTING show of vain, disingenuous claptrap, I just don't believe in "us" anymore. There IS no "us."
It isn't American Idol? Hard to tell. Lets see the similarities: 1) elected by popular vote 2) has to have good rep 4) Has to be pretty and usually have sympathetic background 5) Has to have good stage presence 6) can't have the talent they are suppose to have.
Just like the Idol usually is prettier than a good singer, we got a president that has talents- in all the wrong area's. I've said this one before: he needs to get a stage job, he's got charism, but no real intelligence to speak of.
And of course the media jumped on this: They need to make him look good SOMEHOW, and there options are limited!
@AOW Orwell much? At first I thought that was a list of requirements for a socialist/totalitarianism state, took a minute to realize that most (all?) of that ahs happened... to quote 'ye gods'
Z, I have to admit I love blues so much I actually liked the video
I had the same reaction.
But the reaction of the mainstream media is so sycophantic. Just because BHO can sing does not make him an effective leader, but the mainstream media are subtly implying otherwise -- that he is "all things." Too cultlike for my taste!
FT, No doubt about it: Obama is likeable and has presence in front of an audience. And he LOVES being in front of an audience -- thrives there, in fact.
No governance, but difficult to defeat on Election Day.
I RESENT the way the Establishment is SHOVING MITT DOWN OUR THROATS and UP OUR PATOOTS...."our" side has put on such a DISGUSTING show of vain, disingenuous claptrap
No doubt!
I won't vote for Obama.
But unless there is some intervening event, if the GOP runs Romney at the top of the ticket, Obama will win. That's my prediction, anyway.
Furthermore, does the GOP really have ANYONE to defeat Obama in November. I have serious doubts that the GOP does.
Well, it's still a long way to November. A lot can change between now and then.
Besides, if the Middle East erupts before Election Day here in the United States, such an eruption will have a drastic impact. To the point that elections are suspended here? Possibly -- particularly if we sustain a horrific attack on our homeland.
I don't know about you, but I'm glad that I'm as old as I am. I won't live long enough to see the worst of the consequences.
I envision my final days as a time of holing up with my books and music -- and shutting off all access to the news so as to have "peace in the valley." In other words, I'll become a hermit.
Maybe he can get a contract with Universal Motown and resign from the presidency so he can cut albums. Oh wait. That would leave Joe Biden as president. Darn, there is always down side to even the best dreams of politics.

I would rather him take up a singing career and relinquish or resign his position as president.

Off topic: "GE Orders All Employees To Drive Chevy Volts."
ReplyDeleteYe, gods!
A commenter at Weasel Zippers stated the following:
What car you “must” drive.
What food you “must” eat.
What food your children “can have” in their lunchboxes.
What house you “can” live in, own and what you “can” pay for it.
What you “must” pay for for others’ contraception and abortions.
What you “must” report.
Where you “can” fly and how.
What you “can” own and what you “can’t”.
I hope that he sings his way right out of the White House.
ReplyDeleteHe makes me think of Nero fiddling while Rome burned.

Stalin had a beautiful singing voice-- nuff said.
Two things come to mind.
ReplyDelete-Mentioning Obama's singing seems to be considered racist in some circles.
-Sadly, more people vote for American Idol than do President.
Hey, Karen's Back! HI, KAREN!
ReplyDeleteLeticia, I LOVE your comment..hilarious.

FT,
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Romney!
All of Obama's singing is distraction from THIS HIDEOUS FACT:
ReplyDeleteEach Child Born Today Will Inherit $1.5 Million Worth Of National Debt
Go to the above link to see that graphic.
Ye, gods!
I've heard worse, and it doesn't surprise me that the MSM is swooning over it. Such slavish devotion to obama is common among them.

Bottom line AOW? Obama is now effectively off limits.
ReplyDeleteWould have preferred to hear him try to work out on the Paul Butterfield version of "Born in Chicago".
ReplyDeleteHis vocal style is a little too laid back for blues.
Chuck,
ReplyDeleteI watched that video that you left the link to.
Amazing, huh?
Obviously, no criticism of Obama is allowed, huh? **sigh**
Thank you, AOW, for the article on Romney. It is just as I thought.
ReplyDeleteWhy would ANYONE want to maintain such an unsatisfactory status quo?
The thought gives rise to yet another party label:
STAGNATIONISTS! ;-)
