What's going on?

Silverfiddle Rant!
** Please see Friday's Post and chime in there **

The simplest explanation for the violence yesterday at the Capitol, and the violence in cities all over the US the past year is, some of our fellow citizens are anarchists with a bloodlust for violence, murder and mayhem.

Another factor could be foreign and domestic provocateurs and false flag operators stoking the flames with a continuous stream of inflammatory comments.

More possibilities...

Black people tired of living in shitty neighborhoods and too poor to escape?

White people, especially white males, fed up with being called everything from violent to fragile?

Sinister forces--within and without--purposely fomenting societal chaos?

Powerful interests inciting racial strife?

White people turning violent because they are fearful they are being demographically swamped by foreigners?

Unseen interests carrying out a concerted effort to goad angry white men to rightwing violence, terrorism and murder?

What is the Infotainment Media Complex's role in all of this?

Young people, powerless and helpless, unable to attain the standard of living enjoyed by their Gen X parents?

Are politicians to blame?

Where does this end?

  2. Am I the only one who finds it odd that apparently only a handful of the 'thin blue line' were at the Capitol? Weren't we lucky it wasn't a true terrorist? Oh, and then we supposedly had pipe bombs and IED's? Not buying this whole thing. Of course now we must be censored for being insurrectionists. Just two cute for me.

  3. A little over 2 years ago, the unhinged America-hating anti-Constitutional domestic terrorist organization calling itself the Republican National Committee financed a resident of Virginia, Josh Hawley, to run in primary elections and secure the nomination to run for the US Senate after railroading through actual Missourians that ran for the office. The fact that this scumbag isn't even in office legally to begin with should trigger alarm bells, but let's set that aside a moment. After all, Missouri sent a dead man's wife to the Senate after his corpse won an election. Anything goes...

President Trump summoned this mob to Washington, and spent the day inciting them to violence to the point that Twitter deplatformed him. Josh Hawley raised funds for this mob to get there. Rudy Giuliani stoked violence with a call to "trial by combat." Despite weeks of escalating calls for "revolution," DC police and federal law enforcement made little effort to contain and control a crowd openly and brazenly carrying firearms as the descended upon Capitol Hill. It's a stark contrast to last summer's protests against police brutality when law enforcement in military tactical gear established a perimeter including rooftop snipers around federal government buildings. Yesterday's theater of imbecility featured police officers taking selfies with the domestic terrorists as they used police barricades to smash in the doors of the Capitol building and ransack the offices of Senators and Congressmen. This is no accident. As the saying goes, when you elect a clown, expect a circus.

The most true test of whether or not the United States will survive this third attack on our nation's capital (the British in the War of 1812; the Confederate Army that burned the Post Office in 1862, and now this) is if its conspirators like Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz are expelled from government on their way to the gallows.

    Play with fire, dumbasses.

a crowd openly and brazenly carrying firearms

I was watching a live feed yesterday and didn't see any such brandishing of firearms. They were carrying flags only as far as I could tell.

    2. I don't think you go through nearly two months (much less 4 years!) of cheerleading a thug that regularly thrills his throngs of adoring imbeciles with calls to violence against political opponents including yesterday's incitement to attempt to intimidate VP Pence into trashing the Constitution and then get the vapors and clutch pearls when the barbarians stop "standing back and standing by."

Yeah. Antifa dressed up as cops and opened the doors of Congress to seething mouth breathers. What in Christ's blue hell are you smoking?

  5. I'm still processing what I believe about yesterday's events on Capitol Hill.

So far, as I stated over at Z's blog, I believe this:

I think that I’m done with politics. My voice certainly no longer makes a difference. Neither does my vote.

    1. No use voting anymore. I am with you. We have known for decades that in PA we had to overcome the cheating in Phila. Yet all those years the GOP did nothing. The Dems got more brazen..that's all. The blame lays to a good extent at the GOP's feet.

    2. Indeed. Government sanction fraud, supported at the federal level. That's what totalitarian governments do. I am a Republican living in California, so my vote has been meaningless for many years. I was invited to choose between two Democrat females for US Senate last time. You'll get used to it.

For a few years now, Virginia has been a Blue state. I have no decent choices for either state or local offices. And when a decent choice might arise, it's a foregone conclusion that such a candidate will lose. I can't say that I'm used to it.

  6. The constitution assures the right to "petition the government to redress grievances." There were many who believed the election was fraudulently conducted. They attempted to make such a petition.

The media would have you believe such petitions were heard and failed in the hearing. "The courts have all found that there was no evidence."

Untrue. No case has actually been heard in court. No trial has been conducted. Without exception the application for trial has been rejected. Procedural grounds. The reasons have varied, but without exception, the people who "petitioned the government to redress a grievance" have been told, "your petition will not be heard."

Yesterday they said, "We will be heard."

    1. When that petition falls on deaf ears what ultimately fails is not the petition, but those who aren't listening. Just ask the British Parliament c. 1775.

Who won, and who lost, is not really the issue here. What matters is our faith in the honesty and integrity of the process. Absent that "sine qua non" we are on the road to revolution.

    5. The problem with that line, Silverfiddle, is the keystone of the current attempts to rehabilitate the Trump-incited terrorists is the attempts to portray "Viking Rioter," a fervent Trump supporter and Q-Anon conspiracy theorist named Jake Angeli as a member of Antifa. This has been debunked.

So, we're back to Trump and Guiliani calling for violence, and violence occuring. A leads to B.

I'll leave the central preposterous premise you're leaning into, that Trump supporters are squeaky clean rubes outwitted continuously by an organized effort by intelligent adversaries to make their weapons possession and vandalism charges "look bad" outside their alternate reality. I'll let that marinate in self-refutation sauce and irony lest someone slander me with the allegation that I'd believe Trump supporters capable of rational thought.

    6. The blame lays squarely with those who broke the law. No doubt they were MAGA people, but I also don't discount some of that damage and breaching was done by professionals of whatever ideology. A lot of the rioters last year, the ones showing up with professional gear and training, didn't give a crap about black lives or progressive causes, they just got off on causing mayhem. There was probably a component of that.

Indeed, if 30K enraged, violent people, many with guns, had attacked the Capitol, it would have been a bloodbath.

I have seen a few of these situations go down, and they usually have various components:

      1. A mass of people there to voice support/protest, whatever, not equipped or intending to commit violence.

      2. Mouthy troublemakers issuing empty threats, not prepared to carry out what they are saying, or not realizing they are on the brink of something they don't really want.

      3. A small core of troublemakers with plans and the tools to carry them out.

      4. Amid the mayhem you also have joyriders, who still think this is a peaceful protest and don't know what's going on over there, or who just happily stampede along with the crowd, not thinking of themselves as rioters.

      This is almost universal.

  10. Today, the whole world go to see what the end of democracy looks like. This is an insurrection and attempted coup encouraged by a sitting President under the false accusations of a rigged election they could not prove in 30 court cases. I will welcome Biden and be glad to see Trump in jail.

This was not peaceful once windows were smashed, doors broken down and offices vandalized, This was not ANTIFA or BLM or Soros, lol.

This was encouraged by Trump and Guliani and many more in the GOP.

    1. I agree it is absurd to deny that this is at least part, probably a large part it. But I'm easily convinced that other agents are taking advantage of Trump's and his supporters' volatility. Certainly thugs who just enjoy violence are jumping on the bandwagon (as they have done to so many bandwagons in the past). I'm also positive that alt-right fanatics foreign and domestic must be targetting the community of die-hard Trumpetters pretty hard right now. And I'm sure politicians and agencies are spinning events, as they always do, to further their agendas. But I'd need some evidence that any of them is actually sowing this discord, current potus and his immediate team excepted. Highly plausible that eg. Russian or Chinese bot farms are amping up online anti-election sentiment, but no idea if or how much of an impact that's having compared to Trump's antics.

  15. Last night CNN interviewed John Sullivan, who is a “Well Known” LEFTIST leader from Utah, and who was there when the agitators stormed the US Capitol along with Trump supporters and Several other Groups on Wednesday

In August John Sullivan threatened to rip President Trump from the White House during VIOLENCE in Washington DC. Sullivan was flown to DC for the protests.

The BLACK LIVES MATTER LEADER from Utah made it to Washington DC for a rally and march on Friday.
It was said they were funded and sent here from out of state!

During his time with the microphone the Utah Leader of Black Lives Matter John Sullivan called on BLACK LIVES MATTER to “Rip Trump from the White House!”

They’re openly calling for a revolution. This is domestic terrorism on full display, out in the open. They don’t even try to hide it.

And on another Note:.. Why did Joe Biden bring up “RACISM” while discussing the Capital Break-in. When Race had NOTHING t o do with t! Democrats love to play the Race Card.
