Musical Interlude

(For politics, please scroll down)

"Great Is Thy Faithfulness," an American Christian hymn dating from 1923, has a special place in my heart, in part because it was the hymn requested by my paternal Uncle John to be used as the congregational hymn at his memorial service, held years ago when he perished from Alzheimer's Disease:

  1. "All I have needed Thy hand hath provided. . . ."

That IS the point, isn't it? W emay not get what we think we WANT, but in my small experience I have ALWAYS gotten what I truly NEEDED.

That is possibly the greatest blessing of cherishing Faith –– to learn to be glad and GRATEFUL for whatever we receive, and to make the MOST of it –– especially in times of ADVERSITY.

  2. Good solid, basic four-part harmony sung vigorously, cleanly, and in tune is always reassuring.

  3. Thank you,. AOW, for taking time to affirm our faith. I'm sure it's bound to have a healing, encouraging effect on all but the os hardened cynics.

  5. REJECTING SALVATION seems to have replaced BASEBALL as the National Pastime.

I've seen it time and time again. Produce something beautiful, encouraging, cheerful, hopeful, joyful, uplifting and you're most likely to get one or both of two things:

    1) MOCKED

    2) IGNORED

Because of this pervasive negativism, Jesus Christ gets CRUCIFIED again and again and again every day.

Reduced to its barest essential the Secret of Life is simply this:

    GOD is POSITIVE.

    SATAN is NEGATIVE.

Thanks again for at least trying to bring some Beauty, Order and Sanity into our lives.

Its our best defense against the paralysis that came with DESPAIR.

    1. My, tHAT was rather negative... :(

Not exactly an exhortation to beauty.

    2. Perhaps not, FJ, but it is an absolutely TRUTHFUL observation on the way people tend generally to conduct themselves –– PARTICULARLY in the blogosphere.

As Gertrude Stein might have said, "A fact is a fact is a fact ..."

In modern parlance that translates to "It is what it is."

      };^)>

Like it or not, we live in a perverse, demented world where those in power and infuence INSIST that a TURD is a ROSE, and vice versa, –– and don't anyone DARE try to contradict them, or all HELL will break loose.

That's what a century of Cultural Marxist "influence' has done to tho once-great nation –– and to the West in general.
