  1. We should restore private property rights at once. I know it irks your readers when I harp on Republicans but they certainly didn't do us any favors in this regard when they got on board in full support of the imposition of smoking bans on private property owners.

Thankfully he finally dropped out of the presidental race but former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty was one such supporter who signed a statewide smoking ban into law. I know during the 2008 prez cycle Huckabee endorsed a nationwide ban.

This is antithetical to freedom and to property rights.

We need political leaders who will stand for principles such as this not compromise them and water them down.

  2. The liberal mantra; "Free speech for me and not for thee"

The one woman that said this guy would not do this to Bush was probably right I would assume but fails to say that she would.

Maybe the reporter should have asked her that but her lacking to offer a voluntary statement saying she would not or did not is very telling as I see it and strips away any legitimacy in her "argument".

  4. Where to start?

"Whatever we can use, we will" (to get rid of the signs) That's not scary.

"He (Obama) represents everybody, not some people"

    That's not stupid.

  5. Of course they wouldn't do this Bush. They were too busy plastering Bushitler signs everywhere.

  6. "Whatever we can use, we will."

That says it all, I think.

  7. Well I am offended! He doesn’t represent me or the USA! He is a disgrace!

Now where do I get those signs?

  8. Bd, Well, if the truth is a requirement, they should come down. >

You drop these little pearls of wisdom on us but never have anything to back them up. Which parts of his signs were untrue?

Also, I have asked you this before, are you capable of getting the point of a blog? How do you feel about your fellow brown shirts pissing on this guys freedom of speech rights?

Freedom of speech is not a right, but not to be offended is a right.

The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights. The amendment prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances.

Nowhere in the United States Constitution or the Bill of Rights does it protect anyone from being offended or offended by speech.

Would you care to show me just where you get such a ridiculous idea?

  10. "Well, if the truth is a requirement, they should come down. But I'm glad the wingnut loser have something to bitch about. Again" Author Bd...

Wingnut loser...your tolerance and civility is showing Bd.

The 1st Amendment guarantees free political speech to all of us even small minded bigots like yourself.

Thank God for the Freedom we enjoy in this country. I will gladly pay the price of putting up with the goose dropping that come from your lips in exchange for the opportunity to watch a citizen tell a Mayor and a City Manager NO and their tales tucked behind them as they walk away having realized the Constitution gave us the power not the politicians

  11. Blogginator,
The First Amendment is being shredded before our very eyes. Just look at all the HOAs griping about people displaying the American flag on their own property!

Lots of times, I don't like my neighbors' political signs in November of an election year. But never have I whined or torn the signs down.

On the other hand, I did catch one of my neighbors in my front yard (Fenced!) tearing down the signs I had put up. This trespassing occurred only the one time as I made it clear to my neighbor that I would take her to court if she trespassed again. Obviously, we no longer speak to each other -- her decision, not mine.

    Inversionism prevails! Ugh.

  13. I may be wrong, but I think Edge of the Sandbox was being sarcastic.

  14. I make you a bet if the same exact thing was done to Bush these people would not be against it. Such hypocrisy....

they did do it to Bush. There was even a play about killing Bush.

  16. I knew that libs did worse to Bush and their wasn't any outcry by the media, I was just using their example for the sake of equivalancy.

  17. I noticed this the first time I lived in a city. It's amazing all the restrictions people in cities have on what they can and can not do on their own property.
