Obama: Out Of Touch With Reality

On May 24, 2011, Obama signed the guest book at Westminster Abbey with the date 2008 (Click directly on the image to enlarge it):

The above has been confirmed as an actual occurrence.

Time for a competency hearing?

Could THIS be the problem?

Happy Birthday, Dolores Hope

Dolores Hope, Bob Hope's widow and married to him for nearly forty years, will celebrate birthday 102 today.

Yes, she is still alive.

Wikipedia notes the following, which I found interesting:
In 1990, she was the only female entertainer allowed to perform in Saudi Arabia.
Still performing at the age of eighty-one. Amazing!

More about Dolores Hope HERE at The Great Entertainers Media Archive, including the following video of Bob Hope's final performance with Dolores at his side:

Note to readers: Due to my work and caregiving schedules, I will be posting less frequently than usual.

This bar graph from Mike's America says it all and brings us a much-needed reality check.

The various politicians demonizing oil companies are, at best, misinformed. In fact, as recently noted by LD Jackson of Political Realities, oil companies do not so much receive subsidies as they do tax breaks, which are available to other companies besides oil companies:

What Obama Believes?

I was looking through some magazines that had piled up and found this essay by Fareed Zakaria in Time. From "When Terror Loses Its Grip":

Hamas Dissatisfied

Graphic - Israel and the surrounding area:
Yesterday, Obama delivered his second outreach speech to the Islamic world. In his speech, Obama proposed that Israel return to pre-1967 borders as a gesture of peace to the Pseudostinians and to further the two-state solution.

Predictably, instead of a willingness to negotiate with Israel, Hamas has dubbed Obama's speech as "total failure." From this source:

Yvonne Ridley, British convert to Islam, writes in the Muslim Observer:
...It mattered not the al-Qaida leader was unarmed – that detail was kept back as hugely distorted stories zoomed around the globe about how the evil Arab used his wife as a human shield while firing off rounds at the heroic soldiers who risked their all for Uncle Sam.

The naked display of uncontrollable gung-ho emotion was bad enough but then a smug-looking Obama began sounding like Glenn Ford in a scene from High Noon as he lectured the world about “justice being done”....

Of course, we should consider the source when reading the above essay. Information about Yvonne Ridley:

Quote Of The Day

Bob Mack in response to this post here at Always On Watch:

Obama & his mirrors possess enough pathologies to keep a team of psychologists busy for years.

Obama's Dissatisfaction

Note to readers: Due to my work and caregiving schedules, I will be posting less frequently than usual.

Caught on an open microphone on April 14, Obama said the following:
...Obama [...] weighed in on the performance of rank-and-file federal employees, saying it is “striking ... how generally smart and dedicated” federal workers are, according to Knoller.

But Obama added that some government workers “are slugs and not trying to do their job.”
Sounding like a teeny bopper, Obama also complained about another matter while caught on that open mic:

You can't make this stuff up!

According to Reuters, EPA wants farmers to rein in the amount of dust floating in the air in the American countryside.

The EPA plans to issue the regulations in the fall of 2011. Details of those regulations and the method of enforcement remain unknown.

Dead And Gone (With Addendum)

Note to readers: Due to my work and caregiving schedules, I will be posting less frequently than usual.

One of my homeschool parents texted me last night at 10:51 to give me the news.

Typically, when I get a text message, I just roll over and go back to sleep. I didn't last night, of course.

I booted up the computer, started the coffee pot, and remained awake, watching television and getting the stories on the web, until midnight.
